Calm down dear.
The “how many individuals would get in the opposition team” argument has always been kinda silly, as much as we like to engage in it because of the nature of team sport and various tactics/systems/training methods that various teams employ.
It’s more about how various sides match up against each other. I think Clare did well enough in the middle third, both sides turned over a fair bit of possession but often Limerick walk all over teams. Limerick’s full-forward line was the real concern as enough decent ball went in, but it didn’t stick enough. Clare FB line will need to deliver an even better performance the next day, you would imagine.
Clare did well at finding spaces around the fringes when working the ball out, outballs to the wing to the man in space, the likes of Malone, Fitzgerald & Kelly found these positions a lot and got scores from them. Do Limerick sit off a little to cover this space or double-down on trying to get the turnover high up the pitch? I think they’ll try the latter which means that if Clare can get out, they’ll continue to exploit that space higher up.
I think Limerick will win because of the old adage, a good bigun will beat a good little un. Clare are a great side though. I could watch them all day. They play beautiful hurling
Where’s the best place to park coming from the south side? I’ve never driven from Cork before. I suppose there will be plenty of 5 euro parking options regardless…
I got talking to a lad from gallaby earlier about the game. He told me the Clare crowd are worse than the Black and Tans. I must say it made me laugh.
Clare are big enough too tbf- Malone, Fitzgerald, Conlon, Cleary, Ryan, Duggan are all big, big men. A lot of pace too.
Style-wise, they play quite similar to Limerick I would say? Drop men back around the middle, create space higher up the pitch, move the ball into the likes of Kelly.
They are, but not as hefty across the board as Limerick I’d reckon. Im really looking forward to it anyhow.
I would agree Limerick are probably slightly bigger across the board but I don’t think we’ll physically overpower them.
Should be a good contest.
He knew it was on?!
Limerick have the power and the know how.
Clare have TK and excellent simulation skills.
Gonna be a cracker
Well he told me they two Flanagans were related so I left it at that.
Would.yoi not take the train? Have the run of it to yourself I’d say
Two trains sold out at 12.25 and 12.50… one of them direct too. The Munster final is box office. I could get one and be in for 2.45 alright but it’s more or less straight to the ground then… I’ll land early and have 2 swift pints and a bit of grub.
Brothers?
Are cork in the camogie curtain raiser or something?
A mixture of Clare/Limerick migrants and the Limerick crowd jumping on at Charleville would do it… Plus regular punters heading to Dublin…
. From previous train journey for same fixture in 2017 there was a good splatter of Clare/Limerick got on at Cork… And then loads of Limerick at Mallow and Charleville…and that was probably only 25k attendance.
There’s only a few seats on the other train that gets in later and one that gets in very early…
It’s gonna be a great day.
Most of those €5 parking options will be over by the racecourse side. Stay away from that side of town.
Have a look on google earth on the route in for you. Pick a spot and head for there.
I’m aiming for over by the rugby club side of town. A bit of walking after the game but I’ll have the car pointed the right way. Will zip out.
Limerick will put Clare over its knee on Sunday, pull its pants down around its ankles & give that Clare arse a most merciful leathering.
If I was going from Kilmallock I’d head for Cashel and turn down left and sharp right under the Rock of cashel. You can go cross country from there into Thurles.
