Left an awful mark on Clare people. I knew the name Dermot Kelly from a very young age. Donal O’Grady (centre-back I think) was a friend of my grandfather’s and they never got over the shock of it. 2013 was revenge for '55 for a lot of the older people and would probably have meant more than the final if it was anyone else we beat but Cork.
Were ye bitter with Cork over 77 and 78?
I heard lads after the 2018 Munster final saying 30 years on and nothing had changed. Which is daft obviously but it crushed the high hopes of that generation. It traumatised Loughnane and made him as mad as he was. My mother is 70 and still beating Cork in Thurles is like nothing else for her. I remember clearly meeting people of that generation on the field after we beat them in '98 and there was madness and delirium in their eyes.
Ye’re bitter with Limerick over 1955, Cork over 77 and 78, Waterford over 98 and Tipp over fucking everything. Ye’re some crowd.
Forgive but don’t forget
They love their traditional music though
Mackey’s Greyhounds
If the Munster final is as entertaining as the last two hours here I could be swallowing some humble pie Sunday.
Apples humbled
Yip band of rain is moving more southerly the whole time. Looks like it could miss us completely

No real mention of Nash’s role as perhaps the preferred receiver now amongst the backs
I pucked a ball as a lad with Jimmy Smyth out in my back field at home. Cant recall year or age but I remember him. He was obviously in his later years but what I couldnt fathom was his ability to move his wrists and body to strike the ball. I can still remember being on end of it a pass(shot). Fuck me.
Honestly Id never proclaim to be a good hurler or anywhere near it but that was an experience. Nice memory too. I liked the article. I never met him in my 10 years in Terenure. Shame on me
Be some atmosphere
Unreal. When was the last time there was this much anticipation for a Munster final? It’s basically this and the all Ireland final as the biggest games of the year.
