Whether you admire Martin as a person or not, the man carries a title, Captain of England, that commands respect. You’d do well to remember that.
Wolfie on the Silverback:
A great player.
A great man.
A great English man.
Love him.
Wolfie symbilses all that is best about England.
Hear, hear. Captain of England for 17 years. A man who was brave enough to stand up and take the position at a most trying time after all those prima donnas walked out on the BDO, the organisation that had nurtured them to set up that other renegade outfit.
Wolfie is not just a darts legend, he’s a colossus of world sport.
If I saw the cunt sitting beside Osama Bin Laden it’d be Adams who would get the first bullet to the head.
Wolfie’s playing some tremendous darts here. Great respect and camaraderie between the players there.
hes playing very well to be fair:thumbsup:
I sense that Martin Phillips is possibly ‘happy to have got this far’. He doesn’t appear to have the conviction and belief today. In fairness, he’s playing one of England’s greatest sporting sons.
Lovely moment after Wolfie’s quarter final win as he was coming backstage to fulfill his media obligations. You could see him being clapped off stage by his fellow players and all the the background staff. The respect and fondness which all BDO people have for him says it all.
Good to see Celtic represented in the crowd today at the Lakeside, and that bumblebee clad young man was spotted giving Wolfie a very generous round of applause.
11-darter for Wolfie there. His scoring and finishing have been top, top notch today.
Excellent appreciation and respect for Martin Phillips from the crowd. While it’s clear that the majority are supporting Wolfie as far as winning the match goes, they’re also rooting for the Welshman in what is a massive occasion for him, his first World championship semi final at the age of 49. You wouldn’t expect anything less at Lakeside.
BDO Darts people know how to behave. I believe Whitlock got an awful barracking from the yobs at the final of that other event last Sunday?
Excuse me but i take issue with that.
Tony Fleet came all the way from Australia to fulfill his lifelong ambition of playing at the Lakeside. What happened next was he was jeered and ridiculed at every turn during his match with Martin Adams, England Captain. I wouldn’t be surprised if he never threw an arrow again in his life…

It was disgraceful treating the guy like that.
I may have been way too premature in penning Phillips’ obituary. He’s got it back to 5-3 and just opened up with an 11-darter there. The Lakeside could be the scene to yet more incredible drama.
This is class by the old man!!
Cmaaaannn Phillips. Adams you disgraceful filthy cunt rash, fuck off and die.
Martin Adams, England Captain, disintegrating in front of our very eyes.
Unbelieveable scenes…
Let’s not forget that Martin Adams pulled himself together in the final in 2007 to hold off a rampant Phil Nixon. If anyone can quell this comeback then it’s the England captain.
