BDO World Professional Darts Championships 2014
What’s the combined weight of Bunting & Norris? Must be the combined heaviest ever match up. Would have been heavier again if Kong had made it through.

Hard to look beyond Bunting. He’s been playing very well, has had a far less demanding schedule so could have an edge in fitness and freshness.
In terms of darting ability, both players are super-heavyweights.
Wells maybe you shouldn’t be giving opinions when you are not fully informed.

That match was easily the best game I have seen between the two championships. Tremendous stuff.
Fully informed? Every time I watched this crap I was subjected to to the sight of county-standard players struggling to finish legs with appalling averages and referees who can’t speak properly.

You don’t expect me to sit through hours and hours of this third rate dross until I eventually stumble upon a game that isn’t completely embarrassing do you?

All British players at Lakeside are county players, you fool, the same as all players in an All-Ireland final are club players.

That’s why the BDO system is so wonderful. In the same way as the locals in Killarney can wander down to Dr.Crokes’ pitch and see a legend of the game like Colm Cooper in action, locals in Market Deeping in Cambridgeshire can go down to their local pub and often see a legend of the game like Martin Adams in action.

The BDO is of the people and by the people. In the BDO, the stars and grass roots are one.

County standard I said you fuckwit. Only a total moron would compare these clowns to Gooch Cooper.

I feel desperately sorry for you. You maintain your ignorance about darts in the face of all evidence.

Lakeside has obliterated the fake BSkyB world championship on every level.

When I watch darts, I want to watch it played in front of a knowledgeable, respectful and appreciative audience, with a friendly, convivial family atmosphere where women are welcomed as equals, at a venue where history and tradition are rich in the air.

When I want top quality darts, camaraderie and the very best of order, I watch BDO-affiliated tournaments.

If I wanted to watch darts with artificially inflated averages as a result of a manufacturer who has set their protractor to the “extra generous” setting when measuring the size of the trebles and doubles, played in front of a load of boorish, drunken yobs chanting inanely and leering at the very few women who are stupid enough to subject themselves to such degradation, I’d go to the Alexandra Palace.

I don’t want that, so I don’t go there.

Lakeside is the daddy of all darts tournaments. And the pdc can never, ever change that.

I’ve just finished watching the highlights of the Alan Norris-Jan Dekker semi-final on BBC iPlayer. Despite not seeing it live and knowing the result the tension while watching it was still indescribable.

Jan’s 158 in leg 2 of the decider was as good a shot as you’ll ever see and possibly only Ted Hankey’s 170 to win the world title in 2000 bettered it. I really felt for Jan’s girlfriend when she felt unable to watch in that final leg. Alan’s reaction to victory was magnificent and certainly one for future BBC montages of classic world championship moments. The way he consoled Jan and raised his arm was that of a true sportsman, and as Rudi said, he is a beautiful person. Both players’ arms being raised was entirely appropriate, as both were winners in the truest sense.

“Chuck” is already in pole position for Alright Sort of the Year 2014.

Then why do you start a thread about and watch every single PDC tournament you bullshitting cunt? And Dekker was abused by the BDO boo boys last night, just like Irishman Marty McCloskey was. So give it a rest you tiresome gobshite.

If I go to a restaurant I like to have a starter before the main course. If I go to a GAA match I like to catch some of the minor match.

You’ve now resorted to making things up in an effort to discredit the BDO. Your attempts at propaganda are Goebbels-esque.

Both Marty McCloskey and Michael Meaney have spoken in glowing terms about the Lakeside audience, and why wouldn’t they.

Who is this sandymount red clown? What da fuck does he know about top class darts?

I don’t care what you do mate.

Norris Wilson was the best darts match I saw in ages. You made a sweeping generalisation about the standard of BDO and you didn’t even see the match.

You spoofer.

And yet despite this you subject yourself to the substandard fare at tolka

I’ve seen enough of it to draw my own conclusions. The overall standard is fucking pathetic. My opinion of course Farmer.

If you’re enjoying it then crack on.

Was at one match last year Art.

Really looking forward to the final. Think the bookies have underestimated Norris, they seemed to have priced him up on his semi final performance. He is no 9-4 shot here.

It’s final time.

No wonder Fitton was shit this year, I’ve never seen him as big. The man has put on serious weight in 12 months. Must have been grazing too much from the good paddock.

Who’d win a fight between them?

Maximum for Chuck in the first leg and he has an early break.

Come on Chuck!

Great start by the bhoy Norris.

I’m just wondering if his tougher route to the final will have prepared him better for the huge task ahead.

Bunty has been in imperious form but could Chuck be more battle-hardened?
