Best Sports Films

Did she show her arse in The Blind Side? I thought that was The Proposal, or did she whip it out in the both of them?

You’re the one that fills up the boobie threads, yes?

A thing of beauty is a well filled skirt.

Remember this advice when you start having sex with real women and stop masturbating with Google and photoshop.

You didnt really answer the question there.

watch the movie

I think its PG

So now you’re answering questions that aren’t even asked. You’ll be a tremendous addition around here.

Wahey

talladega nights

Easily the best motor racing film ever.
Shake And Bake.

Forgot to mention Semi Pro in the initial post. Classic stuff

Boston Pride and Above The Rim are two of the better basketball films…Remember the Titan’s is a decent film if a bit corny

Blue Chips, even for having Shaq was still alright.

MGG, whatever happened to Frilly?

I’m about half way through the Damned United, its fucking brilliant, could be the greatest sports film of all time.

It is decent alright, but as always the book is far far better…well worth a read if you enjoyed the film, fitzy…

I have heard that the book is written in a very terse. Irritating. Style. True?

It is somewhat ā€œterseā€ alright, didn’t find it irritating and enjoyed it, switched between his time with Leeds and his managerial carerr leading up to that chapter by chapter…He does have a habit of reiterating things a bit too much but I suppose that is an effect he is trying to create

Thanks Puke, I’ll have to get the book, as the film was fantastic. I’m sure its full of inaccuracies (wasn’t J Giles unhappy with it?), but there’s bound to be some dramatic licence. Michael Sheen and Colm Meaney are extraordinary as Clough and Revie. Clough was a particular hero of mine growing up. Forest were the first team I supported (I was a Trevor Francis fan, being a reader of Tiger and Speed). I still shudder at the thought that had he been England manager, they might have actually won something (or at least qualified for a WC, which they weren’t very good at doing at the time).

Well it isn’t ment to be accurate, it is a work of fiction after all somehwhat based on fact(names/characters, locations, timeframes etc)

Just downloaded two highly rated cycling films.

The Stars and the Watercarriers (1974, 90 min., Danish)

ā€œfollows the fortunes of Danish cyclist Ole Ritter in the 1973 Giro d’Italia (Tour of Italy). The film’s undoubted star, however, is the great Eddy Merckx, who dominates the race from start to finish. The film as a whole gives a good insight into the ins and outs of a 3 week stage race, explaining the roles and aims of the different riders in the race.ā€

The Greatest Show on Earth - Eddy Merckx 1974 Giro
ā€œThis brilliant documentary shows the majestic beauty that is the Giro d’Italia. It’s said that Eddy Merckx’s Molteni boss wept like a child in the arms of his beaming star, who went on to win cycling’s magical triple crown by taking the Tour de France and the World Championships.ā€

Clip: (the lad opening a bottle of juice on his handlebars at the end is a million miles removed from today’s cycling).

Also posting a link to a Sunday in Hell in TFK videos which is a documentary on Paris-Roubaix from 1976 and a real classic.
