Best underage footballer\hurler not to make it at senior level

Ronan Lynch

Tadhg Furlong. Was full back on the last Wexford team to win the Tony Forrestal. Gave up playing sport altogether then a couple of years later.

Whatever happened Ciaran Hanratty, pal. I always thought he was a very dangerous forward but seemed to completely fall out of the scene when Banty left?

Tom and Joe weren’t on the '96 team though?

Garvan, Conway and K Fitzpatrick all won Leinster senior medals in '03 off the '96 team. Woolly too possibly.

Pa Kirby

Read it as 97

Parkinson, Collins, Conroy, Delaney, Garvan, Kelly, Conway, Beano and Fitz won medals in 03.

Sorry kid. A low blow

Joe Higgins was younger though? He was serious player in fairness… Really underrated on senior County scene…

Aye Joe was 97

IMO Hanratty was always fairly shite. All he could do was go run quick, he was completely one dimensional. He was a complete glory also. Still playing for Castleblayney I’m fairly sure.

I always thought he caused us a lot of bother when we played Monaghan. Did Malachy just not rate him or did he lose interest?

Mark Keane

Robbie Tasker was a very talented minor.

He’s now in jail for threatening to rape and stab a middle aged taxi driver.

jesus

Who???

Thankfully galway have never had an underage hurler who failed to reach his potential

None of that Limerick team who won all those U21’s in the late 90’s / early 00’s ever amounted to anything did they?

“Shocks”

Scored 3 points in the All Ireland minor final in 2009.

He was well known as a bit of tramp on the pitch but I was shocked to hear of some of the things off it. There is nothing redeeming at all about the chap, he’s indicative of a lot of thugs that now lord it in border region since the Provos slipped away.
