Big, Big Month For Celtic - Part III

13 minutes in and Boruc has gifted them a goal. Comes out to clear a ball and just fresh airs it and the ball goes under his foot and leaves McMenamin with a tap in. Shocking.

boruc is a liability these days

Another calamity for THG. Fooking hell.

Any links for it lads? The lack of good racing today has be resorting to soccer, a sad sad day

There’s a justin tv link on the previous page Mac.

Great chance there but McDonald was too greedy.

Saw that Bandage but the quality of it was crap.

Would Boruc be a gambler at all lads? Seems to be making a lot of dubious mistakes this season that you wouldn’t expect.

Well done Brown. Good persistence. McGeady and Brown linked well earlier in the move. Scrappy end but feck it.

1-1 scotty brown

Super stuff by Scott Brown. 1-1.

Fucking went to get my pizza out of the oven and missed Aiden’s goal.

Wonderful goal by McGeady.

Welcome back son.

Brings back memories of Georgie Kinkladze for ya Bandy?

Good to see the Irish international scoring. His main threat for a place in the side Stephen Hunt was man of the match for Reading last night. Duff is starting for the Toon aswell today.

Speak to me about the double negative there please.

McGeady’s goal was lovely. Naylor, of all people, threaded a ball in behind the full back. Aiden chased it down and gathered it on the by-line and faced up to the defender. He dropped the shoulder and went by him into the box and curled it into the top corner.

Artur’s gaffes are a real concern now. You can’t put them down to technique or anything like that. It just seems to be really erratic stuff from him.

Artur is probably mashed off his tits inside in the goals

Had all the second half possession and missed lots of chances. McDonald was really greedy another couple of times when ignoring better options and firing shots wide.

They belatedly flung a few balls into the box in the last five minutes and Boruc nearly had another calamity. He let a cross slip through his hands and behind him and Loovens hacked it off the line. Pretty worrying stuff from him.

Crosas and Hesselink got sixty and seventy minutes respectively on their return from injury so that was a positive, as was McGeady’s goal and return to the side.

Celtic vs Peterhead or Queen’s Park in the Scottish Cup 5th round.

Two men have been jailed for two years each for attacking Celtic coach Neil Lennon hours after an Old Firm game.

A jury at Glasgow Sheriff Court found David Whitelaw, 47, and 43-year-old Jeffrey Carrigan guilty of assault by a majority verdict.

However, the pair were cleared of an allegation that the attack on 1 September last year was aggravated by religious prejudice.

Sheriff Martin Jones said the attack was “vicious, brutal and cowardly”.

He added: "After being punched to the ground and lying defenceless, you repeatedly kicked the complainer about the head and body and at some point he was rendered unconscious.

"You showed no concern for your victim and and no appreciation of the consequences of your actions.

“The complainer was indeed fortunate that he didn’t receive more serious injuries.”

The attack took place in Ashton Lane in Glasgow’s west end, hours after Rangers defeated Celtic 4-2 in the opening Old Firm game of the season.

The trial heard that Carrigan had asked Lennon: “Did you like the score today?”

A witness said that in reply, Lennon raised his middle finger at the men.

The pair had claimed that Lennon started the fight by pushing Carrigan and grabbing him by the throat, but witnesses said Whitelaw threw the first punch.

One witness said Whitelaw had been wearing a chain with a distinctive Rangers FC crest.

Lennon, who suffered cuts above his eye and lip, told the court that he could not remember anything about the attack.

He said: "A friend of mine offered to walk me up the road but I said I would be fine as I only live three minutes away.

"The next thing I remember I was lying on the ground and somebody was dabbing my face asking if I was okay.

“My next recollection is waking up in hospital with my fiancee sitting at the end of the bed crying and my manager looking pretty concerned.”

After the pair were convicted, the court heard that Whitelaw was jailed for six years in 1993 for drug offences.

Carrigan was jailed for five years in 2003 for drug dealing.

Hinkel’s fit again but Wilson is out for 3 weeks and Naylor didn’t train today. We’re potentially without a left back for Sunday - I wonder if Barry Robson will drop back in. I’m not sure if either Crosas or Hesselink will be deemed fit enough to play from the start in an away league fixture. I’m also interested in seeing if he’ll stick McGeady back on the bench to reaffirm who’s boss having given him a start in the cup last week. He’s also strongly supported Boruc in his press conference so I don’t think he’ll be dropped. I’ll make a stab at:

Boruc,
Hinekl, SGC, McManus, Robson,
Nakamura, Crosas, Brown, McGeady,
Samaras, McDonald.

Should be a competitive game. Everyone who’s anyone will remember the corresponding fixture last February when McGeady created THAT goal.

Would he throw O’Dea in there at left back maybe?

I hope he doesn’t. O’Dea is just not a full back and it’s not helping his career when he gets 50% of his gametime out there.

I think Jan will start, don’t expect Crosas to start. Is Hartley fit? I’d rather see Caddis and Hinkel than Robson at left back to be honest.
