Big, Big Month For Celtic - Part III

[quote=“Bandage”]In fairness, we need him in the team.

The new year isn’t a week old and Bandage has the 2009 award for stating the obvious wrapped up.

Zip it, you wannabe Leitrim filthpig! I bet you would have been satisfied with a defeat in the derby over Christmas if it meant Strachan’s position was going to come under more negative scrutiny. You fiend.

Good news no doubt. Still think the time for Strachan to go has long gone but at least it looks as though our best player might be picked again.

it wouldn’t look good for MaGeady to be appealing this if he is looking for a new employer…

Good job he isn’t now or never was looking for a new employer so isn’t it.

A reliable source has informed me that Strachan is on his way…either later this month or if not definitely in the summer.

A lot of board members are fed up with his tv interviews which they feel tarnish the club’s image and also were not happy with the way McGeadygate was handled.

DB, the board seemed to back him over the McGeady argument. I severely doubt that the odd sarcastic or dismissive comment to an interviewer or journalist is grounds for dismissal either. Reveal your made up source please!

Did any of the players come out in support of McGeady?

with it being common knowledge that McGeady was unsettled and all sorts of rumours flying about in the lead up to transfer window, was there any interest in the lad?
its difficult enough to prise away a lad from a club in january but surely when a player looks unsettled the vultures will swoop.
spurs are looking at spending 15m on some no mark winger from boro, did they check out McGeady?

No, it was very much a case of ‘what’s happened is between Aiden and the manager, we’re only focusing on the next game and can’t afford to get involved in non-football matters blah blah blah’. I’d imagine they were instructed to bat off questions in the above manner rather than saying anything which would have invited more unwanted headlines.

Paddy McCourts currently in action for the Celtic reserves against Kilmarnock on Celtic TV. Match is from before Xmas.

He goes off injured in that one too as far as I recall.

Yep, he’s just gone off injured Bandage

McGeady, Hesselink and Crosas are all expected to play tomorrow in the cup against Dundee. It’s good to have a cup tie which can be used to build up match fitness for the likes of these three. Paul Caddis will probably get a game at right back as Hinkel and Wilson are injured. I wouldn’t be surprised if Celtic draw a blank as the great Rab Douglas is in goal for Dundee.

Michael Lang allegedly signing/signed. Young Swiss guy. Never heard of him.

Apparently he was the guy who was shown around last week. I initially said it was some other Swiss guy. This Lang chap is a 17-year old central defender I think.

McGeady’s Back

Team today:

Boruc,
Caddis, Loovens, McManus, Naylor,
Nakamura, Brown, Crosas, McGeady,
Vennegoor of Hesselink, McDonald.

That’s probably our strongest midfield when all of them are fully fit. Mark Wilson’s off to France for a pelvic operation. I’d prefer if Darren O’Dea was given game time ahead of Loovens.

I don’t have the bench line-up yet.

Good lineup other than Loovens.

No options at full back so not much choice there. Hope Caddis benefits from the game, he wasn’t great last week I didn’t think.

Midfield is very creative and Jan up front is good to see.

Not many at the game.

Celtic knocking it about nicely early on. Plenty of one touch stuff.

Poor quality link.

Haven’t used it but looks shite enough.
