Never saw one in Kilkenny…

There’s been a share of them on this road for years.

I don’t even know where you live, but see if i did…

Any of ye know anything about Buzzards ? At least I think they are Buzzards. What kind of territory/area would they cover? While travelling yesterday - Ballinasloe, Laurencetown, Eyrecourt, Banagher, Shannonbridge, Aughrim, Cappataggle, Killoran I counted 8. Gorgeous birds. In my vantage point in the cab of the truck I got some spectacular views of them in flight etc.
Could some of my count have been the same bird is my question? These areas as a bird would fly are pretty close.

All over here
Last few years
Hang about together and can travel a few miles over their territory

Same gang is my guess
I see them daily between Carrigaline and Roberts cove
And over to Ballygarvan
Glut of them last 4/5 years
Great to see

Great identification app

I’ve a fine pair of tits (waheeey) in and out of the bird house all day. Is it too early for them to be nesting. It’s been up 4 or 5 years now and no one has nested in it. Would be great if I could help get a young couple onto the property ladder

Ya they are everywhere the past few years.
Would see them pretty regularly around here.

Spotted a kingfisher this morning on my run. Was surprised it was hanging around a pretty small stream.

Have a look on the internet about siting the box if you haven’t done so already. Not south facing and under a bit of cover is good. Different size holes and different heights for different species.

I just happen to have a camera on one of mine facing east. The tits hop in and out of it a lot during winter and spring, but never nest there. It’s probably a bit too open.

Another one facing east gets used most years. Could be the same tits. I don’t know if they’re territorial like robins.

Woops!

Is this lad a regular hawk? Looks too small to be a buzzard. He’s atin a pigeon outside my window.
