Birds

She’s atin’ the pigeon. It’s a female Sparrowhawk.

Niall Hatch is a top man. I knew him back in my UCD days. Haven’t seen him in 30 years. I do enjoy listening to him on the radio.

Have seen goldfinches at a few locations recently including our own back garden. Beautiful plumage.

We moved a feeder to a horizontal pole just a few meters outside the kitchen. Good displays over the month as the birds are so active.

Looks like a Sparrowhawk to me.

Kestrels are generally more orange.

Yes the speckled breast would also be a giveaway.

Nare a swallow seen yet this year and no bumble bees spotted.

Plenty of wasps alright.

Plenty of bumblebees in the countryside

I’ll swop you for some wasps.

The oul bumblebees are like typical soft simpleton mucksavages, can’t handle the city at all, the wazees are pure hardy city lads

Quite normal tbh

Off out to see the Puffin’s in the next month or so on the Saltee Islands. €30 return on the boat. About 50 of them out there now, should be more over the next few weeks.

Could you bring a few of the county hurling team with you and leave them out there?

Should be easy enough to bag one so?

You will need them for a month’s time when you tip.over to nowlan park and beat the cats again.
