There’s some of that alright I think but I think they have bigger problems with their spacing than just the ads. There’s no need for each thread title to take up so much space. The ads don’t make any difference to that - they just fucked up their design in my opinion. Their obsession with tiers of forums:
Topics > Sport Category > Soccer Category > Soccer forum
means you’ve to spend ages nagivating to a forum in the first place and then you can see fuck all content when you get there.
With so many sub-forums you would think that they’d create a customisable front page, like they do on reddit.
Surely they should have Urls like ‘boards.ie/b/soccer’ as well. For single board sites it’s different, but for a site like them it’s a bit ridiculous to still be set up as they are.

I havent been able to get on there on my phone in months unless I go into incognito mode. No loss really except for the kilkenny gaa thread for news and updates.

Haven’t been for about five years mate. Barely go on there anymore, particularly with the Cork GAA now dead.
I really enjoy reading the Man Utd thread every now and again over there especially after a bad result. You have to have a minimum number of posts to contribute as they have fear/phobia of posters from rival teams poking fun at them if they lose. The place descends into anarchy on a Gotham like scale.
They run a fairly overzealous regime of moderation and you must toe the party line and never offer an overly critical assessment of the teams fortunes. They have an obsession with anything Liverpool related and sometimes there is a semblance of higher emotions and importance being placed in their fortunes than their own team.
A bigger shower of plebs and gimps you will never see on the internet and I love it when they lose. Love it.

I joined to take control of the Celtic thread but post on a couple of other soccer forum threads too. I posted about Mourinho setting out Manchester United like a minnow club after the Chelsea game and that his moaning was completely tiresome. A number of them were practically in tears and then Roy Keane came along and pretty much said exactly what I did.
I haven’t been on it since last week as I was at a wedding this weekend - hence I may be banned myself and don’t know yet.
I’m currently serving a 1 month ban starting from late this evening … I wound some grown men up on the internet and this can cause stress to people apparently.
Post up the link there to give us a laugh or stop going on about it
