I was reading the poignant article above, and got thinking about Mikey Perez and the other two lads that defected from Cuba to Ireland to turn pro.
Perez seems to be going ok and his last (only) defeat was to Klitschko’s most recent victim.
Alexei Collado, the flyweight, semmingly has a 15-0 record but has disappeared off the radar in the last 3 years.
Super middleweight, and Chelsea nemesis, Luis Garcia is 12-0 but again, not a peep.
After being smuggled out of Cuba, as the cream of world amateur boxing, has a few years living in Cork, surrounded by layabouts, robbed them of all hunger and motivation?

The stupid cunts went to Cork what did they expect, florida was the spot for them lads
Golovkin decks Monroe twice in the seond. First one was a peach of a left hook.
Monroe did very well to reach the bell but it shouldn’t last too much longer.
Monroe is boxing nicely but Golovkin is like a fuckin terminator. Eats punches and keeps coming forward.
Not landing half as much on Monroe but hurting him twice as much.
Monroe down again. Early body shot sickened him.
And that’s it. Got to his feet but ref waves it over. A little weird, looks like he wanted no more of it.
