Labour MPs who voted for a second reading of the bill were:
Kevin Barron, Sarah Champion, Rosie Cooper, Jon Cruddas, Gloria De Piero, Jim Fitzpatrick, Caroline Flint, Mike Hill, Dan Jarvis, Emma Lewell-Buck, John Mann, Grahame Morris, Lisa Nandy, Melanie Onn, Stephanie Peacock, Jo Platt, Ruth Smeeth, Laura Smith, Gareth Snell
Labour MPs who voted for Johnson’s bouncing through timetable were:
Kevin Barron, Jim Fitzpatrick, Caroline Flint, Kate Hoey, John Mann
Barron, Fitzpatrick, Flint and Mann are lost causes
Hoey did not vote for the bill itself because she’s quasi-DUP
The other 15 MPs are where this will be won and lost
You know he tried hard to sell it to the yanks about four months ago and was stopped only because he was outvoted by the board who feared the terrible optics.
James O’Brien’s show on LBC is great craic all the same
Some chap called in just now to proclaim that Boris Johnson has been a life long supporter of gay rights
O’Brien referred to a line in Johnson’s book “Friends, Voters, Countrymen” in which he said that Peter Mandelson had brought a load of “tank topped bumboys, blubbing at the Ministry of Sound” into cabinet
The caller said that was nonsense and he hadn’t written that
O’Brien had the book in front of him and read it out
The caller again denied it before saying to O’Brien “you’re a snowflake loser”
“Choo choo”, replies O’Brien before moving onto the next caller
