They’d want to be turning the sod today to have it ready for two years time.

Will be loads in two years and certainly by 2020. All brand new and high spec.

Residential more of an issue but that can be sorted too once we decide to build up

The main problem on office space for financial services is that the operators want it in one central location such as works in London & Frankfurt. That may be harder to fix in Dublin, is there significant space left over in the docklands areas either side of the river?

Lots already in progress. Not necessarily needed for two years once they know it will be ready by 2020 as the city won’t decamp overnight but they need a clear plan on where they are going to have the European HQ and will staff it up over time

:pint:

Friend of the forum Johnny Ronan is in Canary Wharf as we speak bringing home the bacon in the form of international investment banks.

What the IRA could not blow up, the heartbeat of the City has been blown up by the British themselves.

We need to be seen publicly asking for a fair deal for our largest trade partner while privately stabbing the bastards in the back… It’s time for ruthlessness… let’s gut the bastards.

On an unrelated note I spent most of a day in Cobh recently. For a town id always considered a shithole they have done a nice job on it. Was out on spike island as well. Decent if massively under utilised tourist facility id say

No

Shit loads on North side of river id have thought

Ah there is, just not where they want them. Fuck em out to East Point there or Clarehall, they’ll be grand.

Yeah I’m sure that will work

ah yeah its lovely on a nice day, locals try their best down there, hit hard with the steel closing on top of IFI and verolme dockyard in the late 80’s
why would you have considered it a shithole BTW?
its just an average seaside town really, nice bit of history too with all the coffin ships and the Luisitania, not to mention the Titantic that i really think they have rode the arse off by now
Ive never beem out to Spike, i used to work summers in Irish steel alright on haulbowline that is now gone and only the naval base remains
bit of history allright on Ft. Mitchell on Spike

Yep the London mile has really done greater London the power of good, we should do our best to emulate it here.

On the question of aristocratic inbreeding, it won’t surprise anybody to learn that Theresa is yet another Tory aristocrat. Though unusually she can’t be described as chinless.

Theresa’s own aristocratic line includes the first Earl of Grandison, George Villiers, who founded the town of Villierstown in West Waterford. Fans of Irish athletics and moments of iconic Irish sporting commentary will always remember Villierstown as the home of Irish long distance legend John Treacy.

Was it he who built the gate?

Yes.
