Theresa May must have studied Pep Guardiola’s tactics in the 2009 Chelsea v Barcelona Champions League semi-final second leg, thinking they could work for her.

Get absolutely nowhere for 92 minutes with the same, unchanging tactics, not playing with your full compliment of players, and somehow get a miracle last minute breakthrough off a mistake by the opposition.

But Guardiola was managing Barcelona. May is managing the political equivalent of Accrington Stanley.

The Tories are blinking.

I think you’re overstating the relevance of Corbyn in all this. The Tories and the DUP are perfectly capable of incompetence without worrying about anyone else.

It really couldn’t.

The UK will still be in the EU at 14:26 on March 29th, 2019.

What would stop it? It’s not the smart option obviously there’d be sanctions etc but if they really felt they were being shafted by the EU in negotiations they could of course

“We voted to become North Korea.”

For real? Who’d do a trade with them after that? They’d be ordered by the international court to comply with their international obligations. You’d be talking about a choice to become a pariah state that refuses to comply with international law.

Edit: and to go against the will of its own citizens.

I’m just saying mate. The whole end date to the backstop thing is unnecessary. It’s not like the UK can be forced to stay in the EU forever against their will.

Lolz

The backstop says that yes, they can.

And who’s going to enforce it? You?

The EU

A buffalo nickel says Brexit won’t happen

How exasperated must the EU team be?

Cox reportedly described as “improvising beyond his expertise” which is a lovely barbed insult.
