BREXIT thread

There’s a good chance he won’t have a majority in parliament to get it over the line, meaning an election. Anything could happen then.

That uucoam Cummings reckons he can push it through regardless

Parliament has already voted for Article 50. Boris doesn’t need any further votes in Parliament. There could be a vote of confidence which Boris loses following which there might be a period of time for alternative parties to form a Government or Boris could exercise discretion on when to have the election, even after October 31st by which date Brexit will have happened and a Tory victory would be a validation of their approach. THe EU must be scratching their heads at the moment. It’s fascinating to watch.

Exactly, so why still odds against??

I agree

Still Leo dug his heels in during his visit to Belfast today insisting that even in the event of a crash out, the border would have to be sorted before any fta with Brussels.

He’s bullshitting. The border will be part of the trade negotiations. The EU putting in pre conditions has got them into this mess.

The EU hold all the cards. It will all be done on their terms. The UK haven’t even a vague idea of what it is they want, how can you negotiate an agreement with that? The EU approach has been to shepherd them and manage them towards an exit that will be the least damaging possible.

Well if the EU say that the deal is not negotiable there is only one conclusion if the Tories want to avoid electoral oblivion.

What’s to negotiate if the UK don’t change their “red lines” or come with a counter proposal?

There won’t be a counter proposal because they can’t agree on what they want. They should have had a cross party discussion before triggering Article 50 but didn’t because May was sucking up to her right wing. Let them have their hard Brexit.

Because it’s akin to suicide, and like most people/ nations of dubious character, the markets are being they will step back from the edge.

Exactly. Nothing the EU has done has gotten them I to this mess. It has been their own fuck up every single time.

What you need is the likes of Airbus to keep their promise and move house if they crash out. That’ll soften their cough

Do you really think they give a fuck?

Who? The Brits? Not now but give it three years when the place becomes an economic wasteland, they’ll give a fuck then. Also remember that the closer this thing gets, the closer Scotland is to leaving the U.K. That would also isolate the north. They bang on about Brexit being more important than the union. Might be the case but if Scotland goes, Wales won’t be long after them.

That’s all scare tactics. On the 1st November they’ll all sit down and get a deal done. Leo the Leprechaun getting fucked under the bus of course
