Brexit perfectly summed up there. The tans really do have notions about themselves…

The DUP may self combust when BoJo sells them down the river.

If TFK doesn’t get 50+ posts out of this the forum is as good as over.

When all else fails, throw in a gibberish post dressed up as something cryptic in order to deflect from your misogynism

@GeoffreyBoycott

Brexit is about the freedom to batter women and not be subject to pesky EU regulations like the banning of assault

"The judge, Dominique Haumant-Daumas, indulged Boycott and his lawyer when they presented hours of muddled evidence from, among others, a psychiatrist who had never met the victim, Margaret Moore, 46. (He judged her, from television clips and conversations with a former husband, to be a “hysterical psychopath”.)

There were also three British women who travelled to France at Mr Boycott’s expense to say they had suffered similar injuries to Ms Moore - two black eyes, severe bruising on the face - just by falling over in the street or at home."

The old psychiatrist who has never met the victim trick is a great favourite of woman beaters

Its like rain on your wedding day…

Should someone convicted of a crime 25 years ago not be eligible for a knighthood? Can someone not be rehabilitated after 25 years? Serious question.

He still says he didn’t do it.

i think france allows for spent convictions after 5 years IIRC

He says he was being extorted for a 1m quid. There are two sides to every story. A British court would have been fairer on both sides.

French courts are very quick to convict without a proper hearing. Look at Ian Bailey.

“I couldn’t give a toss love”- Sir Geoffrey Boycott’s response to Martha Kearney of BBC when asked what he thought about demostic voilence and womens group complaining about his knighthood.

There’s a very thorough vetting process before a knighthood is awarded. I would imagine if it is the case that Sir Geoffrey now accepts the conviction of the French courts, the selection committee were satisfied that he is now fully rehabilitated after the passage of more than 20, almost 25 years.

If Sir Geoffrey as @mikehunt is claiming doesn’t accept the conviction of the French courts and continues to maintain his innocence and that he was framed, I’d imagine the selection committee themselves would have grave misgivings about the French judicial system here and the safeness of the conviction , if they were to proceed in awarding a knighthood.

His defence included :

a psychiatrist who had never met the victim, Margaret Moore, 46. (He judged her, from television clips and conversations with a former husband, to be a “hysterical psychopath”.)

If he punched her 20 times in the face I daresay she would have looked a lot worse than she did. As the other Geoff said, it was either a dodgy conviction or he has been rehabilitated. They stripped Phil Taylor of an MBE for something similar so no way would a knighthood be put forward without due diligence.
