Foden is on tour with England in Argentina as far as I know. They played a match last night.

Sidney didnt know this? :o

The match was in Uruguay. The bluffers are being badly exposed here.

I’d love to see Delon Armitage goading another Australian as he goes over for a match-winning try.

Is this basically the mid-week team? Or has he not nailed his colours to the mast yet re the test XV?

I would imagine that Gatty’s thinking was that anybody who played on the final weekend of their domestic season (as the Leinster, Ulster, Leicester and Northampton boys did) would be given an extra four days rest to recover before being thrown into the fray. Thus the team that faced the Baa-Baas was largely Welsh, Scotch and Munster-dominated.

Would be a sporting tragedy if Rob’s Lions tour is over before its even begun. History repeating itself for an Irish full back on a British Lions tour? Rodney O’Donnell in South Africa 1980 immediately springs to mind.

The bond that unites Irish people with the British Lions is a strong one

Sidney or Manuel Zelaya are you available to take a few questions about the Loins?

Absolutely. Fire away.

This is the 125th anniversary of the first tour to Australia and New Zealand in 1888.

Thank you.

How many Tours in total has there been?

I’d be ropey on the exact years in the early days. This is the 21st tour since 1910.

1910 - South Africa
1924 - South Africa
1930 - New Zealand & Australia
1938 - South Africa
1950 - New Zealand & Australia
1955 - South Africa
1959 - New Zealand & Australia
1962 - South Africa
1966 - New Zealand & Australia
1971 - New Zealand
1974 - South Africa
1977 - New Zealand
1980 - South Africa
1983 - New Zealand
1989 - Australia
1993 - New Zealand
1997 - South Africa
2001 - Australia
2005 - New Zealand
2009 - South Africa
2013 - Australia

Thats great. One final question.

How many victorious tours have there been?

They were successful on the Australian legs of all tours up until the series defeat in 2001. 1971 the only win in New Zealand and 1974 & 1997 in South Africa.

4 series win’s in 125 years, that quite a proud record our boys have. The 89 tour doesn’t seem to get much play in the press, I remember watching it on tv at the time, my first recollection of the British Lions. Found this great photo of the lads celebrating there when I went looking

This thread is some pile of steaming shit.
