Jonny Sexton’s hamstring was “a little tight” at the end according to Sexton…Yikes! Hopefully just precautionary

It’ll be great to get Django out there though, a blow for Tommy but a gust of wind into the sails of Zeebs. Worrying to hear about Sexty’s knock, but in Fazza the British have a world class 10. Will Gatty be making a call to the REAL Jonny?
The team for Tuesday’s Combined New South Wales-Queen’s Land game has been named.
Sean Maitland, Alex Cuthbert, Brian O’Driscoll, Jamie Roberts, George North; Stuart Hogg, Conor Murray; Alex Corbisiero, Richard Hibbard, Dan Cole, Richie Gray, Ian Evans, Sean O’Brien, Justin Tipuric, Jamie Heaslip.
Replacements: Rory Best, Ryan Grant, Matt Stevens, Alun Wyn Jones, Toby Faletau, Mike Phillips, Jonathan Davies, Leigh Halfpenny.
That back row, on form, could be the Test combination but with Gatty admitting that most of the first Test XV will start against the Waratahs next Saturday, it’s difficult to see him going with it.
Brian O’Driscoll and Jamie Roberts team up for the first time since 2009. The two go together like strawberries and cream or gin and tonic. It just works. I’m hugely looking forward to seeing them in action again.
Stuart Hogg once again starts, at 10 this time - his versatility sees him start his third match of the tour and it’s probably the correct decision form Gatty given Jonny Sexton’s tight hamstring.
You can almost guess the team for the Waratahs based on this selection. With Alex Cuthbert, Stuart Hogg and Richie Gray, starting their second match in a row it’s almost certain they won’t start a third.
George North starting on Tuesday means Django will likely go straight into starting action next Saturday.
Can’t believe Sidney neglected to tell us that BOD captains the side again
I actually meant to but somehow forgot to. Well pointed out.
Much deserved British Loins call up for Django.
Great to see Tommy still has a chance, Tommy is the greatest finisher in the British squad.
It would be fairytale stuff if T-Bowe could return.
Conor George is of Tony Leenesque journalism. An utter bull shitter.
Rob Kearney is back in full training and should be available for selection for Saturday. I expect to see a back three of Kearney (full-back), Halfpenny (right-wing three-quarter) and Zebo (left-wing three-quarter) for that match.
I am 100% sure that Zeebs has a chance of starting the first test.
Live coverage of this morning’s match on RTE Radio 1 Long Wave (252) and Radio 1 Extra.
I think we’ll do a serious number on this Combined Country team.
Prediction: Combined Country 7 Loins 101
I won’t be able to watch the boys today sadly but I’ll be with them in spirit as will all inhabitants of the British Isles I’m sure.
And with that, I’ve just read that Cuthy has cut through for the first try which as been converted by Hoggy. What a dreams start for the Loins.
19-0 after 11 mins, the Empire rules the province.
19-0 to the Loins after 15 minutes. Hoggy missing our first kick in Australia is an annoyance.
Unbelieveable pace from Maitland and North as they play a 2-2 from their own goal line to combine for a try finished by the Welshman. This adds to the earlier tries by Cuthbert. Murray and Hogg. 0-26 after 21 minutes.
The great tradition of the British Loins DEMANDS no let up. Putting 100 points on this mob is the honorable thing to do.
This is the first match of the tour to take place in New South Wales and it’s an appropriate time to remember the first ever British Loins captain, Robert Seddon, who tragically drowned on the inaugural tour in 1888. Seddon drowned while sculling on the Hunter River at Maitland, not far from Newcastle, where today’s game takes place. The Loins visited his grave yesterday. Seddon could surely never have dreamed of the legacy he’d leave, and that we’re still building on 125 years later. A true pioneer.
0-38 at half-time.

A harrowing reminder of the dangers of sculling. I can only imagine the numbers lost to this noble pastime each year. Great to see Sammy and Gats honour a fallen comrade. The Loins, a great bunch of goys.
