Sidney, O’Gara is so far away from being even considered for the Lions squad that it immediately brings the rest of your list into disrepute.

Hard to argue with any of that Sidney, when it comes to the Loins you’re te authority on here. O Gara is a must.

Ridiculous anti-Irish bias.

Nah, of all the Irish players to propose he’s way down the list. Healy, Sexton, BOD, POC etc way more likely to be on the plane and in the test team than ROG. Even last week he was marginally above average.

Raj will exorcise the ghosts of Pretoria and Duncan McRae. You might think it’s a gamble but as far as I’m concerned, who better to gamble on than Raj.

Walnuts’ Loins dream is over however.

:smiley: :clap::clap:.

His good mate JP waiting in the wings to bail him out if things go belly up…

You’re embarrassing yourself here. Quietly excuse yourself and hope nobody has noticed.

You think ROG is anywhere near a tour spot? Which of the other players I mentioned do you think will not travel?

what is the purpose of the “tour”?

More than near I think it’s widely accepted that the number 10 shirt is his and it’ll be his swansong.

Much like most professional sports, to entertain the proletariat while providing an income for the parties involved.

That bait is a little too rancid.

The purpose of the British Loins tour is not to entertain the proletariat, it is to civilise them.

Your argument is based on the premise that the proletariat would be watching it. They won’t, they’ll be watching sport instead.

The proletariat will watch what Rupert Murdoch tells it to watch.

Reading the Irish Indo and Sindo in recent days the Irish rugby media have creamed themselves over a win or two by Munster and Leinster in club competitons.

Tony Ward reckons that it is without debate that “one of the O’s” i.e. drico or paulie will be captain. For feck sake one is a great player but ageing and struggling to finish games and got himself suspended lately. The other is a good player who has played a match or two the last 12 months and is facing a citing. Wales have a selection of players who have been involved in captain their national side to grand slams, championships and a world cup semi final.

Others are saying Peter O’Mahony, Conor Murray, Simon Zebo should be on the plane after the Stoop and Ian Madigan is now being described as a possible “bolter”. FFS if James Downey makes one break against Clermont they will probably be saying " he has put his hand up" for selection. The Welsh and the English must get a great laugh out of this.

I hear you. O Gara for captain. Cant see it myself.

A big day for Ireland with the appointment of Edward “Eanna” Falvey (Cloyne GAA) as assistant doctor for the expedition. Along with the appointment of Patrick “Rala” O’Reilly (Terenure RFC) as Head Baggage Master, Edward’s appointment should dispel any doubts held by Irishmen that they are not being considered for positions of vital importance to the cause.

Today also saw the announcement of Neil Jenkins (Wales) as British Loins kicking coach.

They are just copying the English and Welsh media. Rugby people get carried away with this tour and they often don’t pick the best form players anyway. If they cannot beat the present Australian team with the talent available to them it will show how much of a farce and waste of their time it is. Problem is the money the people who run this have invested in it. It’s a gold mine for their travel companies an other “partners”. In the modern game it’s just abuse of players.
