British Loins Tour to New Zealand 2017 - Official Thread

:joy:

If they toured Argentina I would think about it

Got to love the Kiwi media

Sean o Brien has let down Britain

They are a fucking howl. Pull out a few of the headlines from the Dropbox file there around the whinging Irish after the 2nd test in November!!

O’Brien gets cited, but there was no citing for this by Tawera Kerr-Barlow in the Loins-Maori game:

Sadly it’s an outcome POV they go for now with anything to do with the head. The fact that it’s a physical sport doesn’t seem to matter, they just seem to be needed to be seen to do something about it. There are probably a dozen incidents a game where the player is actually a bit reckless. The jumping at Murray’s leg for example, I see that as all in the game but that sort of play will probably end in a bad leg injury for someone eventually.

What O’Brien did there isn’t even worthy of a penalty. Players can be concussed through fair play - that’s just part of the game. If you suspend players for playing the game fairly the game is made a mockery of.

Was vuinapola cited? His hit on Barrett was both reckless and intentional and much worse than SOB hit. Interesting to see if POM back in reckoning if o brien was suspended. Or CJ might start at 6.

SOB been best player on the tour

Under the rules it is though. Was nothing in it really though agreed. All Blacks got away with far worse in November series but the moaning minnies meant there was a rule change after that

Specific rule, please. If that’s a penalty, rugby football is finished as there would be 100 plus penalties per match.

I don’t know the numerical references to the law book pal. Any contact with a players head is a penalty. Depending on severity, outcome and intent then decides a further sanction

Summary

More detailed

If that’s the case, all 30 players plus subs yesterday could be cited.

Take it up with world rugby. To be honest there was a massive amount of criticism of the rules when they were introduced expecting them to turn into complete carnage. It hasn’t really happened with most refs using a degree of common sense so while lots of them are penalised much less than expected are yellow and red offences.

It’s definitely lowered the ‘tackle line’ which was the intent

This is miles “worse” by Sam Cane. It’s a flat elbow to the side of the head.

The all blacks get away with murder always have and probably always will. Sure Peyper and TMO tried talking ref out of the red yesterday.

I’m so outraged at this citing that I’d go down to Supermac’s and get myself a Bacon Double Cheeseburger meal in solidarity with the Tank, only I’d be worried that it would be construed as also giving support to the Galway hurling team today, who I’m not supporting.

I see your dilemma but solidarity with Tullow’s finest in paramount here .

Has to be Stander to 6 for me. POM, Warburton and Fakateau just won’t make the carries. Stander is fresh and ready to go too.

Go for it. He might get off. Don’t let it ruin your day. Worst case scenario his tour is over and he is home in one piece which would be a surprising but positive development

This is the British Loins and we’re going into a 50-50 series-deciding test against New Zealand for only the second time in history. I will let it ruin my day, thanks.
