British Loins Tour to New Zealand 2017 - Official Thread

Payne out Halfp on the bench

Hurricanes to score 2.5 + tries 11/8. It’s 8/15 with B365. One of them is badly wrong

PP also doing special 5/2 North anytime tryscorer looks decent price

Edit. Hurricanes 2.5 + was 11/8 last nt bout midnight with PP. 4/5 now

A try made and finished in Scotland. Greig Laidlaw intercepts just under the Lions posts and Tommy Seymour finishes off the breakout. 10-0 British Lions.

Robbie Henshaw gone off with a nasty enough looking shoulder injury. That’s probably his tour over.

Big turnover from Rory Best there leads to a penalty which Dan Biggar converts for 13-0. Best and Biggar have both been playing well. Barely a mention of either for test selection but on form they are probably the in form players at hooker and out half.

Besty is everywhere in defence.

Poor Greig Laidlaw was knocked right back on his feet attempting to stop that try.

Biggar responded immediately with a penalty to make it 16-7.

George North has just gone over for a try.

Biggar launched a garryowen from inside his own half, Leigh Halfpenny raced forward and made a right nuisance of himself as the ball dropped, the ball bounced back into the air and Iain Henderson anticipated the bounce first and popped it very smartly to the overlapping North who waltzed in under the posts.

23-7 to the Loins.

The man who wouldn’t play on Sunday’s never played 6- he was an out and out no 7

Good defence from the boys to hold out at the end of that 43 minute first half.23-7 still.

Hendo and Lawesy are both putting their hands up for selection in the second row.

Besty is becoming a really fine midweek captain.

Despite North’s try, he’s been moved to 12 in Robbie Henshaw’s absence which doesn’t bode well for his chances of test selection.

It’ll be interesting to see who’s taken off early like Elliot Daly was last Tuesday. That’ll be the best clue as to who, if anybody, will make the jump into the test squad for Saturday.

Tremendous try for Wellington in the first minute of the second half.

Jordie Barrett taps over a penalty under the posts to make it 23-17.

Wellington have come to play in the second half so far.

Wellington scrum half Tahuriorangi has been binned for a high tackle on Jack Nowell.

Biggar taps over for 26-17.

Another fine intervention by Iain Henderson to charge down and gather a kick to create the attack.

A great Loins try!

Tommy Seymour!

What was the unders on this game do you know?

May I abjectly backtrack about laidlaw.
You were absolutely correct, he’s as slow as a wet week in ennistymon, and there are far better scrumhalves that the lions could have chosen.

Biggar missed the convo but he can take so much credit for the try - a wonderful long pass to Nowell cut out two men and then Halfpenny and Seymour finished it in the corner. 31-17 after 57 minutes.

Hendo is having an absolute stormer. Rampaged through just before the try and was barely held up on the line by Jordie Barrett.

But Courtney Lawes was the first man off after 53 minutes. Personally I’d be bringing both Lawes and Hendo into the test squad.
