The notion that Labour are behind the Tories in personal and party polls is a shocking indictment. The reference to Enda Kenny was made here. It’s a similar situation to Ireland in 2011 as in it’s tap-in stuff for any sort of opposition but yet they’re the ones in disarray. To try and spin it as any thing other than disastrous is to ignore reality.
The Brexit crisis has been caused as much by a dysfunctional Labour party as it has by headbanger Tories and the Labour party were probably the best hope of a sane voice in British politics to mitigate the Brexit risk. That coherent and rational counter-balance has been massively absent. That is largely because Corbyn is comfortable with Brexit despite the obvious impact it will have on his core constituents. At best that’s reckless - at worst it’s weasel levels of deceitfulness.
I may have said it here before, but I’ve definitely said it to people in real life that the tragedy for Britain is that at the most important time for Britain in 75 years not alone does it have its worst Government in my lifetime, it also has its worst opposition.
Corbyn has proved he is utterly worthless … May has plenty of faults but she has battled hard when it would have been much easier to walk away. She’s twice the politician Corbyn is. He is a sad case.
I’m not setting out to defend labour at all costs here by the way, Fagan’s post below is spot on. But the blame for Brexit, and the mess Brexit has become, both lie solely with the Tories.
If there was an effective opposition the Brexit crisis would be lessened. Ergo - Labour have a role in the extent of the crisis. Absolutely started by Tories, or a headbanger wing in the Tories, and theirs is the prime responsibility but Labour have exacerbated the crisis through their actions and inactions and have failed to hold the Tories to account or provide a credible alternative way.
Giving them a free pass on it is to ignore their failings purely for idealogical reasons. You desperately wish they were the real deal.
Wow. Clear xenophobia. Unfortunate given your job. But putting that aside…
He’s a terrible leader. His party are falling apart. The public doesnt like or trust him. He has wilfully disengaged from the most important issue facing england in 50 years, in the hope that he can sneak into power on the ruins of what will be left of england. Wanting him to be a good leader is all well and good but you should probably look at the facts.
What has he done over the last 2 years to make you think of him as a ‘good leader’?
Defending him repeatedly against the charge of being a shit leader is doing just that. Its like you’re unable to analyse an ongoing situation and simply express your feelings based on what you would like him to be.
