Hired a cobra reel to push the rope through the 40M duct from the the telephone pole at the garden wall to the ETU at the house. Ran into big problems at both ends, took about 12 hours on a cold wet November day.
The lads we had to use went out of their way to not do a single bit of work. The best was the time they rang the doorbell and when I opened the door 15 seconds later they were already back in the van ready to drive off.

Those fibre cables are big enough figure 8 jobs. So you’ll be a bit limited for change in the future. If you want the freedom for change, dig it up now and put in a two inch pipe. If you have only one fibre provider in your area, then not much point digging.
They’re meant to be the go to guys if you’re in a really rural area. I’m with eir myself and find them great if you can get them in that area.

My router just blew up-literally! There was a clap of thunder and I’m assuming lightning earthed itself on my poor box. Rang eir there 8 mins of options before being told I’m being put on hold. Disaster for us- we’ve nothing out here without broadband
It’s a new large scale cyber offensive by the Clare County Board. When they detect offensive posts coming from a particular IP address they can send a power surge to that IP and blow up the router.
