Me oul jalopy has failed the NCT and it’s looking like it’s not worth saving, though I am tempted as it’s a beautiful car.
But we’ve been looking at the Volvo s40 or else that BMW hatchback thingy, 2013 to 2015, are they good cars?
Personally I’d steer well clear.
I though Volvo and BMW were solid reliables?
Don’t think Volvo are what they once were but I’d defer to lads who know more about cars. Read something a while back about some reliability issues.
All I ever hear is trouble with them both. Expensive to repair when things go awry.
Mrs B has an eye for both but she may stick with her Ford, it costs us nothing to keep it in the road besides the usual consumables ie tyres, pads.
Volvo for trucks
BMW for drug dealers ![]()
I had an S40 for 5 years, drove the absolute fuck out of it, not a jot of trouble.
I had a S60 for a couple of years, a 162, loved it.
Fair play if that’s the case. Just relaying the advice I got when I changed last time round
I’ve driven Alfa Romeo’s for the past 17 years and never had an ounce of trouble with them so I’m not that worried about reputation
Another question, is there any difference snacks to buying a Japanese import? Auto express on the Dock Road seems to have lots of bargains and I’m not quite sure why
Easier to rob a Japanese import.
No immobiliser. Youll be shafted on insurance as it will end up on a green in a housing estate burnt out

would you see yourself as a glass half full sort of a fella?
I would be a glass of not buying a jap import fella tbh. You see a Toyota Aqua driving around the place you know its going to robbed
AutoXpress don’t do Japanese imports. Primarily UK imports. I think Enterprise used to. Are they still there?
Enterprise are still there alright, not sure of the jap imports but there is a fella near fermoy that specialises in jap imports.
Saying that getting an English import is far better than buying something that was new here
Good cars. A few picky things cropping up as it’s out of guarantee

Two Aquas and a Mazda Demio
@backinatracksuit be wide of Jap imports
