What do ye make of Volkswagon Passats, despite the fact that the knackers drive them? They seem like a decent carā¦
Last time we were home we had a Passat diesel for the 3 weeks - great car Dunph. Very comfortable, spacious car with plenty of grunt. It was a joy to drive on the impressive set of modern freeways in Ireland and Iāll certainly be looking at one next year when I change the car as I drive a lot.
I have one for the past 2 years Dunph. No complaints except Iām not gone on the electronic handbrake.
Its a 08 and would do about 950 Kmās for a full tank of diesel (60 Litres). Roughly translates to about 45 miles to the Gallon. Mixed drivingā¦ bendy country road, small streches of good roads and city driving.
Plenty Knackers with them alright but they tend to have the gold ones of the white ones.
The Avensis has taken over at the automobile of choice for the unwashed.
Get yourself a Skoda Octavia Dunph. Not too far from a Passat and cheaper both to buy and service. Had one for years and no complaints.

skoda by all accounts is a great car, the superb is almost a carbon copy of the passat, only cheaper.

good car, parts are expencive, toyota donāt break down and are chep to fix and get parts for even if knaks drive them, the new mondeo is the dog bollocks dunph it shares a platform with a volvo
PS Skoda, seat, and vw all share platforms so look at skoda suberbs from around 2002 to 2008 as they are just rebadged passats

Dunph, for what itās worth, youāll pick up a motor that would do your noble self justice ie. navigation system, bluetooth, heated leather seats, parking sensors etc, paying the VRT and collection costs for about 60% of what cunts here would ask you, by visiting some UK sites such as cargiant.com or whatever.
Alternativley look at e-bayuk and search for a trader called āquality cars at auction pricesā or something like thatā¦
Youāll snaffle a BMW520d (08 or so) for about ā¬12k to admire below on the haggard in Tour, all paidā¦

I will put The Dunph up if he wants a bed for the night and a sound judge of cars to go with him to look at some moter vehicles. There is a Pakistani lad around the corner from me selling cars and he looks very honest
