Celebrity Deaths 2007

I’d like to hear a few other viewpoints on this. I still have a nagging feeling that the initial throat cancer would mean he’s ‘active’ and then once the secondary cancer strikes then the linesman’s flag should go up because of the initial cancer. I think it’s akin to a striker standing a yard offside while his colleague has a shot and then hammering the ball home from a rebound after the 'keeper spills the first shot. There’s a definite advantage there due to the earlier illness (standing offside) and when he eventually slips home the rebound (dies) that should count him out.

Are we agreed that Maddie McCann is not a celebrity?

  • Ron Atkinson
  • Mick Jagger
  • Maggie Thatcher

I’m replacing Sir Alex Ferguson with Bob Holness of Blockbusters fame. I also thoroughly enjoyed Bob presenting Call My Bluff in the company of team captains Sandi Toksvig and the late, and dearly missed, Alan Coren.

It’s looking increasingly likely that it’s going to be a jackpot rollover into 2008.

I’ll take Katy French now(over a barrell)

Denied due to the pre-existing illness/ailment rule. She would have been a smashing call last week though.

Is drug addiction considered an ailment?

The fact she’s in a coma would suggest she’s suffering from some kind of illness. If she overdosed and died straight away and you had her in the sweep before then I’d say fair shout. But to try add her to your list when she’s already in this state is simply opportunistic. This request is dismissed. I’m changing from Bob Holness to Paul McGrath now by the way.

Here Bandage I wasnt seriously trying to make her my selection, obviously there is a pre existing condition there. I just thought I’d throw the name up with a stupid joke along with it.

Amy Winehouse is my choice

Did anyone have Joe Dolan for 2007, he passed away this afternoon.

Oh me oh my. Or is it oh my oh me.

Joe Dolan RIP.

I hope the people who booked tickets for his upcoming gigs get a full refund.

There’s no show like a Joe Show.

The peak of his career was obviously his duet with Dustin. Masterpiece for the ages

More bad news, Benazir Bhutto has croaked it after a suicide bomb:

I wasn’t at all surprised by the news when I heard it. Yet she wasn’t even on my list. Unforgiveable.

It really is an eventful year-end for the celebrity deathstakes.

Nope, there’s going to replace him with Daniel O’Donnell.

Maybe we should have an end of year bonus deathstakes!
