Willie was a colossus in all four tests on that 1977 British Lions tour. Lions player of the series. He’s still well remembered over there for his 1977 heroics, 40 years on.

Like @Julio_Geordio I have heard the name but wouldn’t pick him out of a lineup, probably an age thing but I wouldn’t class him as a celebrity like I would Nick Popplewell or Jim Staples.
I suppose no one is going to ask why all these rubby men are dying so young over the last few years.

As regards the recent celebrity rugby deaths, no:
Colin Meads was 81. He had pancreatic cancer.
Willie Duggan was 67, seemingly a heart attack. He was a heavy smoker.
Don’t lower yourself. Let that scumbag stew in his own hatred.
I don’t recall any celeb rubby deaths over the last few years, mate.
