Brilliant Stokes-Hooper link up and Douglas saves from Stokes.
Rogic for Izaguirre after 65 minutes with Ledley moving to left wing back.
Is anything else required tho? seriously Totti
21 points clear in feburary, playing a team bottom of the league, how / why would the players want to lift it above the bare minumum?
Im watching it over here as well as Celtic have become a very populatr team with kayal / gershon on board, its poor stuff i agree entirely , but i dont really know what else can be expected, its a meaningless game.
Watt is right to play the cup semi, thats more important
Miku for Forrest is the final change.
Ledley makes it 4-0. Excellent finish from Stokes’ pass. Rogic involved twice in the build up.
I like this shape at the moment. It’s easy enough with this lead but we have good width and have them ready stretched open and Rogic is finding space.
And Ledley makes it 4 after Rogic and then Stokes linked well to create a straightforward chance for him.
Think we’ve actually played really well with a good tempo since Totti switched over to the rugby.
Hooper!!!
Great goal. Ledley has been excellent today. Super control and finish by Hooper from Ledley’s pass.
Just need a goal from Stokes now to round things off.
That was a lovely goal. Nice spell of passing after Kayal won it back for us in their half with some intelligent pressing. The pass from Ledley was sublime and the finish from Hooper was clinical.
He deserves one alright, some lovely you hear around their box. He’s playing a little wider now so may not get much of a chance to get one.
Won’t matter but that’s a dreadful decision by the linesman against Stokes there.
How has Hooper played?
It’s over Mac. He played well in general play and scored a lovely goal.
Ah that’s great. Always a concern when a striker goes a few games without scoring but great man management by Lennon to keep Hooper in the team to end his mini drought today. Would have been very easy to drop him and give a younger player a chance.
Well he’s never gone 6 games without a goal so no doubt Lennon recognised that.
Brown and Lustig will both miss the Juventus game next midweek. Celtic are still waiting to receive the specialist’s assessment of Brown’s hip/abductor problem but he’s been ruled out in any case.
We have Motherwell away in the SPL tonight and a cup game at the weekend away to St Mirren prior to the Juve game. With the league wrapped up, I’d expect us to play our strongest side at the weekend and in Turin and utilise the squad tonight. We’ve played nearly every midweek since the resumption after the winter break so there’s a need to have the main players ready for the two games after tonight.
I’d look to include Rogne, McGeouch, Kayal, McCourt, Rogic, Lassad etc tonight - a lot of the lads that played up in Inverness a few weeks ago.
A bit of rotation alright but it’s still a strong team and Samaras is included after his recent injury. Not really a defensive minded player in midfield though.
Forster,
Matthews, Rogne, Wanyama, Izaguirre,
Forrest, Kayal, Rogic, Commons,
Stokes, Samaras.
Subs: Zaluska, Ambrose, Lassad, Ledley, McCourt, McGeouch, Hooper.
Wanyama is the captain tonight. Sky Sports 1, bhoys.
