Celtic January Transfer Window 2021

The power is with the fans here.

The AICSC put forward a fairly damning statement yesterday to the board, I wonder if @Rocko distanced himself from it.

I don’t see the point of getting him in now really if Preston are looking for £2.5m. We could sign McKenzie for that.

Did he ever join Genk in the end?

Barry Coffey has joined Cliftonville on loan.

The step up in the first team management setup should bring him on.

Any chance Hendry might come back.

Burnely are reportedly sniffing about now and Oostende have an option too.

Seems to be having a terrific season in Belgium.

It’s clear as day that there is a sour atmosphere at the club at present, and will be until Mr pumpkin head leaves. I doubt we will attract much until he does.
Plus, if he does go, I’d rather give a new manager a look at what is there first.
Mr pumpkin head seems happy to screw the club for money. Maybe he’s right.

if they want to push on the latter point though would they not just sign Jamie macgrath , Dylan connolly and kabia…?
3 young lads from league of Ireland who are ripping up the spl …surely one of the lads from the Kilmarnock midfield power or dicker could have replaced brown?
I never got that about celtic… you have all these irish fellas in that league doing well . Rooney a case in point for years and they ve no interest in recruiting them but yet would herald a guy like Duffy who was off the back of a disaster with Brighton as s big sign of the ties with Ireland.

Duffy was always going to be a risk. he is a fella who thrives in a backs to the wall environment like with Ireland where you put your neck on the line and hoof it clear he does that very well I must say…now celtic are a team who have large volumes of the ball in games, over 70%, the need is to play from the back, this isn’t Duffy lads, potter called him at Brighton, I thought hughton may take him at forest but I can’t see that happening either.
I know the man lost 2 people recently who are very close to him also…that can’t have helped

I suppose they think a lot of them lads aren’t “Celtic class “ and maybe they aren’t . The SPL isn’t great and out with Celtic and Rangers the other clubs have been poor in Europe . Jesus Dundalk x 2 and Shamrock Rovers have made the group stages of Europa League over last decade or so . Has any SPL side outside the big 2 reached that stage over the same period .

The lads you mention are doing ok but I would think Celtic won’t be signing them soon .

McCarthy starts for Palace today

Jake Doyle Hayes is the Irish player from St Mirren to sign. Future Ireland international.

Paul Hartley was the kind of signing Celtic should be looking at. A lad who was the mainstay of a decent spl side week in week out. Maybe not European class, but the kind of lad who got the better of Hamish Mcjockstrap week in week out, wet Tuesday night and all. Celtic have enough ball playing quality. They need a couple of good solid hard SPL pros to build a team around, and I can’t see another Scott brown about at the moment. Power or dicker would be that kind.

Hartley was absolutely dogshit.

If we had a caveman like Sean Dyche in charge then maybe he’d do a job in some archaic style of football.

What Celtic really need is a progressive manager with an identity and style he wants to impose, on the footballing side of things we have some really good players there, we just need a competent manager to work with those players.

I’m not espousing Hartley as the second coming of CR7.
Celtic are absolute dogshit with a caveman of a manager several levels below Sean Dyche.
Hartley at least would give a fcuk, unlike most of Celtics talent at present.
I’ve already said that they shouldn’t buy anyone, they should get a new manager first, but as Lennon appears to have taken root, we need a player with SPL know-how to take control on the pitch, and to stop the likes of Édouard being so fcuking supine.
In any case, I expect a Neil Lennon side to go on a good run now there is nothing of note at stake.

I’d also reckon Hartley didn’t play much as Celtic had a decent squad at the time.

Even Shved is turning it on in Belgium now after his manager all but disowning him a couple of months back.

mcgrath and connolly turning the screw now

Shved and Hendry aren’t playing under dinosaurs though.

Look you wrote off the likes of Soro, Bayo and Shved last year and defended Lennon to the hilt.

It’s clear as day it was the manager who was the issue. Those players should be judged under a manager who knows what he is at.
