Celtic Summer Transfer Window 2020 & Associated Malahide Public Amenities Discussion

CELTIC Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Swiss international striker, Albian Ajeti, who has joined the club on a four-year deal from West Ham United.

The 23-year-old spent last season at the English Premiership side, having spent the previous two years at Swiss Super League outfit FC Basel.

While playing in Switzerland’s top-flight, the forward played alongside Hoops loanee Mohamed Elyounoussi, and was named the Swiss Super League top goalscorer with 17 goals during the 2017/18 campaign.

Celtic manager Neil Lennon described Albian as a tremendous player, and one that he’s delighted to bring to the Club.

He said: “We are delighted to bring Albian to Celtic. He is a tremendous player, an international with real quality and I know he is really determined to do all he can to bring more success to our supporters.

“I have admired him for long time as he is a really intelligent footballer, well balanced and a really good finisher. We are so pleased to make him a Celtic player and we hope he has a long and prosperous career with us.”

Everyone at Celtic welcomes Albian to the club and wishes him every success in the years ahead.

Shane Duffy a realistic signing?

what is the edge?

It’s a documentary about the rise and the disintegration of the English cricket team of around about 2010.
Trust me, it’s worth watching.

The interest is genuine but I wouldn’t have Celtic as favourites when competing against other teams. Others will offer to buy outright and pay his salary, I’m sure Celtic are just hoping to pay a % of his salary to take him off Brighton’s hands but he’s probably too highly regarded for Brighton to agree to that.

Who was the last ROI international to play competitive international football while a Celtic player ???

McGeady ??

Darren O’Dea

Did he play in qualifiers ??

Actually didn’t Stokes start a few qualifiers when at Celtic

Yes was a semi regular starter under Trap. Played alongside Dunne in Moscow

I can’t remember tbh . I don’t think he was ever “trusted “ but I am open to correction

I recall Stokes playing up front against Germany at some point, think it was towards the end of Trap’s reign in the Euro 2014 qualifiers

He did in 2013 you are spot on

Is that the last ??

Given the club’s Irish roots there has always been a relatively small crossover . The high point was Euro 88 with Big Mick , Packie and Morris .

Was that when Noel King was briefly in charge?

Did Spud Murphy ever get capped when he was with Celtic?

He may have gotten a cap or two but wasn’t a regular and playing in competative ties until his run of good form at Ipswich when O’Neill was over Ireland

I don’t remember that at all. Never quite good enough to be a regular at that level but deserved a few caps alright.

He even won young international footballer one year at the FAI awards under Trap.

Ricardo Rodriguez looks set to sign for Torino for €3m on a €1.5m per year contract.

Surely that’s the type of signing Celtic should have been looking at?
