His pedigree looks very good but highly unusual we’d be in the market for another striker unless Édouard was moving on?
I’d take that for Ajer if we are going to utilise the full of that fee. I think we would be able to sign three defenders as good as him for that kind of money.
The chairman of Wolfsberger apparently said we had made a bid but he may be just trying to generate interest.
I guess it might be more a reflection on Griffiths. Plus having Edouard as a ready made replacement for Dembele worked well and we might be getting our replacement a year early. I know we have Klimala (and Bayo) but we had no fit striker in a cup final last year and even the emergency guy we played in a few games around then is gone.
Having said that, I wouldn’t have striker as a priority but much depends on Griffiths and the assessment of the fringe players. Klimala looks like he got much stronger over lockdown.
I’d like to see us looking at a centre back and someone to challenge Forrest along with a goalkeeper as priority.
Reading between the lines, Griffiths must take a load of minding. Saw those reports on Klimala coming back from lockdown faster and all bulked up, like that US golfer.

Maybe he should pumped full of HGH.
He’s at the first team squad training camp in Loughborough anyway. Although they usually bring a few young players along to these camps every pre season for development/experience.
The Athletic had a (boring) piece about how young players were pissed off that they hadn’t been brought along and the ones who were in Loughborough were all considered first teamers. So that suggests a promotion for Dembele.
Do we know if Connell and O’Connor were there?
Connell and Robertson were there. Didn’t see O’Connor or Afolabi in the footage online. I stopped following the Athletic guy that covers Celtic so don’t really see any of their stuff anymore.

I got the impression Alofabi might have been the player disaffected by his exclusion because he’s given a few interviews to that Athletic chap in the last year. But that’s just speculation.

ok, many israeli strikers in the past few years who were hyped beyond belief by Dahan , im thinking Omer Damari in 2014 and to a lesser extent Manor Salomon altho he is doing ok at Shaktar -Weissman tho is a small lad with i think something like a goal per game ratio in the austrian bundesliga so he clearly is prolific but itis the austrian bundesliga
Another Israeli Muanes Dabbur also tore that up with red bull last few seasons, went to Sevilla where it never worked out but is now doing ok with hoffenheim or some bunch of jokers in the bundesliga
so in short yeah, young lad , clearly high hopes, but this is Dahan again id imagine…
