We need a goalie the back 3/4/5 have faith in though.
That’s my worry, suddenly the Ajer move has funded all and then everything goes quiet.
It looks to me by all intents and purposes we are set for another net profit or break even summer when the squad needs serious investment.
The urgency in which the defence needs players added can’t be understated, by the looks of thinks we will be going into a CL qualifier with an all Scottish defence with an average age of 21. 3 of them who are pretty much complete novices at this level.

Yeah, it’s unacceptable. I imagine Edouard will leave for £20mn-£25mn late in the window and I don’t think we’ll even be spending all of that either. We’ll probably end up with net proceeds coming in. Linked again with George Baldock by Sky Sports as our right back target.

Sky Sports linking us with a loan move for Manchester City right back Yan Couto. Young Brazilian, signed last year, farmed out on loan to feeder club Girona. We’re still seemingly tapping up our old favourites for deals - Dudu Dahan and City Football Group.

I think €8.5m on those two players is not a massive risk and well worth it with their pedigree and age profile. That would leave us sorted in the wide areas.
Would still need another right back, centre half, left back and midfielder. Probably a goalkeeper too.
Would certainly shore things up a bit. Watch as we argue over a few hundred k though, with european football on the line
