Celtic Transfer Window Summer 2021

18 Million for Edouard is a snip in my opinion.

There could be. That chap is just reading tweets though and passing them off as articles. He had the Edouard to Rubin Kazan story yesterday which came from that Alan Nixon bullshitter chap and was rubbished in Russia immediately. So depends on who the actual source is.

It is, but itā€™s not a bad deal for Celtic as things stand. Theyā€™d lose a portion of that, but still.

My Portuguese is rusty but I think ā€œuma clasuala de opcaoā€ that we coukd ā€œacionarā€ might mean that we could have a purchase option.

Jota vai prosseguir a carreira no Celtic.

Lovely.

He looks a player tbf.

Most of the footage Iā€™ve seen on YouTube of him has him playing from the right.

If both he and Giakoumakis are on the way then Edouard is definitely out the door. Would expect Griffiths to leave as well.

Iā€™d imagine that will be our lot.

Reading between the lines, Angeā€™s post match comment (said he should have started Kyogo through the middle but was somewhat short in his wide options due to Forrestā€™s absence) made me think Edouard is away.

Good that we have an option on this Portuguese lad.

Looks a decent player, donā€™t know if we can rely on Abada fully yet as heā€™s only 19 and very lightweight.

Jota seems to be primarily right sided from the footage.

Looks really talented though.

Optimistic about Jota. Seems to be a talent

After yesterday I would say we need another midfielder. Thereā€™s a huge overreliance on McGregor and weā€™re fucked if he goes down.

Turnbull has had two really poor perfromances in big games in the past week. Heā€™s a nice player, creative and a goal threat but he can be a passenger and he was in those two games. Christie was awful yesterday.

I think for the next big game which will probably be the EL I would go with McGregor, Rogic and Soro.

I donā€™t think Ange rates or trusts Soro, I thought he was very good against Hearts in the league game we lost but heā€™s been dropped since then. McCarthy might take time to get up to speed and thereā€™d be question marks there too. Someone like Ali McCann is exactly the sort of foil or alternative we need for McGregor I think.

In a pure numbers thing Iā€™d say Giakoumakis and Jota will be our lot with Edouard and Griffiths departing.

Ideally Iā€™d like a defender and midfielder in.

I think Ralston is arguably the first name on the teamsheet right now. Juranovic did ok yesterday all things considered, being played out of position and thrown in for his debut in a game of that magnitude. Is the balance of the team impacted with a right footed left back - hard to know really

I think itā€™s less important when they are playing inside so often. Juranovic will take a while to get used to that bit of the role but I think being right footed wonā€™t harm him too much if heā€™s going inside.

I agree on the midfield being a concern. I think McCarthy is the obvious solution if we can get him fit. I thought Soro did well for a few minutes yesterday and then gave the ball away poorly a couple of times which he canā€™t really do in that position.

There are definitely problems with balance in the middle. Turnbull and Rogic arenā€™t very athletic or defensive. Christie is better at that but was awful yesterday and isnā€™t very disciplined either. We rely too much on McGregor for basic shape.

Turnbull and Rogic lack legs.

Christie brings energy but his composure and focus was abysmal yesterday.

Soro was a bit of mixed bag yesterday but I think we were chasing the game, usually thatā€™s when you take Soro off, not bring him in. I think he gives us a better balance when we start games. He generally uses the ball smartly and breaks up a lot of play.

McCarthy might be the best option going forward but big question marks as alluded to.

Right now I think itā€™s one of Turnbull or Rogic in for me and I think Rogic brings more composure and creativity.

Itā€™s a dilemma ā€¦Ralston is a real old fashioned defender and loves a tackle which Celtic defence really needs but I thought yesterday he was quite robotic in possession, Juaronavic looks like heā€™ll offer more going forward if played on his favoured side ā€¦

I think his distribution is very good. He played a few key passes getting forward and uses the ball well. Defends really well, his crossing is good and heā€™s a great outlet on the overlap. Celticā€™s MOTM by a considerable distance yesterday.

Youā€™ve see a lot more of him than meā€¦ he was defo one of the few Celtic players up for the physical challenge yesterday ā€¦I just thought at times in second half he didnā€™t know where to go with the ballā€¦

Iā€™d say Ralston was the very least of our troubles yesterday.

Yes but back to my original point as far as improving things in an attacking sense if jovanoc offers more on his natural side then there could be a dilemmaā€¦

Possibly. But I doubt Juranovic will be as defensively solid and Iā€™m not sure heā€™ll be as good on the overlap as Ralston. Heā€™s been excellent so far this season, got a couple of great goals, consistently getting himself in good positions and creating chances. Iā€™d have him even ahead of Kyogo as our best player so far this season.
