Some filthy technical ability there.

Riley McGree not joining.

Surely be called the Bhoya-Goalah

Ye were told. Something not right about this chap

Getting outbid by Middlesbrough is quite depressing.

Oh well.

Well we agreed a fee so itā€™s just on the terms. Seems he was looking for more than we offered our recent signings. If we donā€™t think heā€™s worth that then Iā€™m happy we stuck to our terms.

14k pw is not a huge amount though.

Iā€™m not overly worried but thought he looked a good player. Weā€™ve Ideguchi and Hatate added there already so I wasnā€™t expecting another midfielder.

Iā€™m always dubious when a deal is ā€œconfirmedā€ by the media and OVER a day passes without the club officially confirming it. Even when there are work permit/visa hoops to jump through, like with the Japanese bhoys, we confirm the deals subject to international clearance etc etc. Last time I recall something like this happening was when the jocko media had us signing Turnbull a transfer window or two before he eventually joined but a couple of days passed and it transpired heā€™d failed his medical. Is the McGree deal collapsing because he or Charlotte or both were offered more money? Was his preference not to play under Ange?

He looks to have something about him but 3 goals for Birmingham from the #10 position is a fairly crap return. I donā€™t think heā€™s anywhere near as proven a talent as Turnbull, never mind Rogic.

The media seem to be saying that Boro are eager to pull out all the stops. Apparently theyā€™ve offered him a contract worth 14k pw which is well within what we can afford, I suppose it now comes down to how much we want him.

Seems he was offered more money by Boro. Which is fair enough. Iā€™m not overly concerned about not paying more than we think heā€™s worth - I hadnā€™t heard of him last week.

I think he looks a lot better than Turnbull if Iā€™m honest, far more mobility and energy. Looking forward to how we get on now with Hatate starting and no Turnbull.

Turnbullā€™s hamstring injury was meant to be quite bad. I saw 8-10 weeks mentioned and that would leave him out until late February. I saw translated quotes Ange gave in Greek to some football show over there and Iā€™m not sure based on that whether the two Japanese midfield bhoys are considered first team ready immediately. His comments about Maeda seemed to indicate that he would be a key player straight away. Weā€™ll see soon enough anyway.

I think youā€™re wrongly assuming Turnbull will drop into oblivion. Heā€™ll continue to play a lot I think. Heā€™s a good player and Ange clearly rates him. We now have rotation options which is great.

I think form should be the barometer, I think Turnbull has looked a fish out of sea at times this year. Heā€™s out injured now and weā€™ve added two midfielders in. If they do well he will have a big job to get back into that team.

I think weā€™ll be a better team with Hatate than Turnbull.

Maybe so. I think Turnbull has been one of our better players but weā€™ll see how Hatate does. He looks really good so hopefully he plays even better and continues to add the goals that Turnbull did.

Anyway remains to be seen on McGree. We pay higher wages than Boro. So itā€™s a question really or how much of our budget we think heā€™s worth.

Exactly. Either way I think heā€™s a good player and 14k should be well within our reach if we rate him.

Looks like a similar scenario to the Turnbull deal where Turnbull obviously felt he was lowballed in his original contract offer. If Celtic want him then they should be able to secure him.

I wonder if weā€™ll be back in for Wolf if this breaks down? Similar profile.

yesterday when i thought he was signing he was the real deal
not, he is a journeyman that has a troubling career path

Cambodian incident is a big red flag. No wonder @RaymondCrotty pulled the plug on the deal.
