Celtic Transfer Windows 2022 & 2023

Jota with a farewell message. I know @Little_Lord_Fauntleroy will appreciate this.

Celtic Twitter is hinting at a Callum McGregor contract extension announcement.

Think the squad is off to Portugal this week & into next for a training camp before heading across to Japan for the main pre-season tour.

Any more signing rumours, bhoys? Like I said last week, would like a couple of established lads who will definitely be first team starters to be signed to complement these younger lads like Holm & Tilio.

Celtic have agreed a deal to sign Gangwon FC winger Yang Hyun-jun. The fee agreed between the two clubs is understood to be worth around €2.5m.

Celtic are also set to sign Busan IPark midfielder Kwon Hyeok-kyu. (Sports Chosun)

Forgive me for not bumping the non-matchday discussion thread, don’t think we need two Celtic threads near the top of the board for pre-season activity.

Rodgers confirmed yesterday that Alistair Johnston has had an ankle operation and the recovery timescale is 6-8 weeks.

He was speaking on a Microsoft Teams call with journalists to promote the Celtic-Wolves friendly in the Aviva at the end of July.

He was asked specifically about Mikey Johnston by one of the Irish journalists & said that he’s out for 3 months with a back injury. Johnston just doesn’t seem robust enough to have kind of long-term future at Celtic before you even consider if he’s consistent or good enough.

He also indicated that Hart would be the first choice keeper. Some speculation as to whether he would want a younger keeper with better distribution.

CCV making good progress apparently but doing his own programme & not joining in with the squad.

Marco Tilio also out for a couple of months. Apparently was signed with an injury he had picked up on international duty so it was known before signing but pity he will miss this run of test matches.

I know there’s going to be a lot of clamour to replace Jota and I do think there will be a big money signing late in the window though. However I’m more interested to see what BR can do with what’s there already especially o’reilly and Abada. I think working with an absolutely top class coach which BR is despite his character flaws will bring them on in leaps and bounds. Might also help Ralston and Bernabai, especially the latter, push on as well.

This chap & his club have also said he’s joining Celtic.

Celtic have yet to officially announce either of the two Koreans.

Permit maybe holding things up?

LEGIA WARSAW boss Kosta Runjaic has warned the club’s fans to expect Celtic target Maik Nawrocki to leave the club soon.

The Polish defender has emerged as a £3.5million target for new Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers.

He needs help at the back with Cameron Carter-Vickers still working his way back from surgery at the end of last season.

Brendan Rodgers saw 6ft 3in Nawrocki up close when he helped the Poles beat Leicester City 1-0 in a September 2021 Europa League clash.

There is reported interest from Germany, Italy and Turkey in the ex-Werder Bremen stopper - with Turkish giants Galatasaray very much in the running.

The Hoops have a close relationship with the Polish outfit - although reports in that country say the two clubs are negotiating over a sell-on.

Super Express Sport claims that Legia want €5m (£4.3m) for Nawrocki.

But the Legia boss said: "You can expect Maik Nawrocki to leave our club soon.

“The information has already leaked out, there is a serious offer on the table, but for now these are internal consultations.”

Nawrocki has two years remaining on his contract at Legia who he helped to finish runners up in the Ekstraklasa last season.

But he last week conceded that there is uncertainty over whether he will stay in Poland for this season.

Nawrocki said: “I don’t know anything about my future yet. It’s definitely not something I’m nervous about.

“Maybe I’ll find out a bit more soon.”

Have we just unearthed the truth about a British Army officer who went missing up around the border many moons ago ? Looks like he may have headed for Poland .

Lovely. Expect the other Korean gentleman to be announced soon and just waiting on a scouting report from @balbec on Malik Navroki but he looks close to signing too.

Kieran Tierney after that too.

Putting the rat pack back together.

Whats Mo Johnston up to these days?
