Celtic Transfer Windows 2022 & 2023

I actually do like Soro as a player, thought he was very good when he came into the team last season but he doesn’t seem suited to Ange and it’s probably for the best for everyone if he moves on.

Do we see anything plausible in the Hannes Wolf links? Looks an interesting player but I’d be very surprised if we brought him in.

Barkas and Bolingoli will probably move on but I think we will find it hard to shift Ajeti.

I think Wolf is not really on the cards. We’ll have interest but he’ll use us for his own benefit

There’s one particularly annoying Celtic blogger who’s posting daily that Wolf’s signing is going to be announced imminently, but it never materialises.

He’s like the Bhoy who cried Wolf at this stage.

Are Celtic back training yet or did they take a break at all?

Seems very hush, hush. Dembele, Giakoumakis and Jullien were due to return to training in the new year according to Ange.

I think they’re due back in either over the weekend or on Monday. Some of the foreign bhoys had the flights back to Glasgow insta posts over the last day or two.

Johnny Kenny was a guest of Hibs at the recent League Cup Final. He obviously liked what he saw that day.

We’re not done yet

Another attacking midfielder. Hmmmm

If Ange thinks he’s an upgrade, then I’d be all for it. I like the Aussies, have a bit of grit about them.

Watched a video of McGree. He looks a clone of Ryan Christie, left footed, eye for goal, likes to drive at defences. Should be a good addition.

Middlesbrough were linked with him yesterday and a 2m fee was touted so presumably it will be the same again here.

I’m sceptical about the McGree links. Ange didn’t seem too convinced we’d be getting anyone else in when interviewed the other day. And it’s from the Daily Mail but not from McGowan so might just be a case of linking us with a player because he’s Australian.

I’m going to change my mind and say there is something to this story.

I think he looks a good player. Can probably operate in the front three if we are stuck too.

Daily Record:

Celtic have clinched the signing of Australian international Riley McGree.

The 23-year-old has agreed to become the fifth January signing for Ange Postecoglou.

And the Parkhead club are set to announce McGree as a Hoops player, subject to international clearance.

The Hoops agreed a fee in the region of £3million with the playmaker’s club Charlotte FC.

Postecoglou took a hands-on role in negotiations and the personal touch helped secure the move.

The Celtic boss knows the player after first drafting him into the Australia set-up when he was Socceroos boss.

McGree looked to be on the verge of a move to Middlesbrough after Birmingham City, where he was on loan, were unable to match the transfer fee or wages for the player.

But the Hoops moved quickly and decisively to wrap up the signing and he follows J-League trio Reo Hatate, Yosuke Ideguchi and Daizen Maeda and young Irish striker Johnny Kenny from Sligo Rovers.
