Celtic Transfers - 2013 Summer Transfer Window

I doubt we’re after McClean if we’re getting Boerrigter. Same rumoured price too, I know who I’d prefer.

We’re also linked with Icelandic striker Alfred Finnbogason of Heerenveen.

Is Boerrigter a done deal? That seems to be the talk on twitter.

Medical tomorrow I think.

Finbogason has just tweeted a video of You’ll Never Walk Alone. Bring him home.

STV confirming that Boerrigter is due in Glasgow for his medical alright:

I understand the fee is much lower than that mooted. I’m hearing it’s just shy of €2m.

Still very doubtful we’d get Finbogason - he’d be our most expensive signing in years.

Is this quite a weird unofficial confirmation from Neil Lennon that Boerrigter has signed?

Did Doyle ever get signed? How about McClean?

Nope. Both just rumours.

Joe Ledley gave an interview to STV earlier where he dismissed rumours of a return to Cardiff City. He said he wants to extend his stay at Celtic and hopes to sign a new deal in the coming weeks.

On the other hand, a Dublin based source informs me that Kelvin Wilson wants to return to England for family reasons. We’ll let him rejoin Nottingham Forest for nothing less than £3m, however. They came back with a second bid, which was still closer to £2m.

I would be looking for around £5m for Wilson.

Boerrigter passed his medical and agreed terms this evening. The transfer will be officially announced tomorrow and he’ll be in the squad for the Elfsborg game on Wednesday night.

That’s a TFK exclusive.

Fantastic news. He joins an elite group of players we’ve signed over the past 8 years or so as a player I’ve heard of prior to him being linked in the media.

I’m at Neil’s pre Elfsborg press conference. Derk is completing the final stages of his medical and will be in the squad tomorrow.

Boerrigter has signed for Celtic. This is wonderful news.

Is there any truth in the rumour that we bid 500k for Doyle today? What a waste that would be.

Fantastic news. I’ve high hopes for this guy.

Do any of the rest of ye think Doyle would do well with Celtic? Would like to think he could find some form up there again

I’ve had a part about turn and wouldn’t mind him joining, but £500k is more than enough for him. Wolves are looking to get rid of him and his wages so they’re in no position to demand £2.5m. But a source of mine in the outskirts of Glasgow tells me we’ve turned our attentions to Nikica Jelavic.

The guy is a donkey, couldn’t have him embarrassing the Hoops in the Champions League. He also has a very bad attitude, the reason he has been so shit the last couple of seasons is that he let all the praise and hype go to his head and slacked off on his workrate and also got far too heavy. A player of his limited ability can’t afford to stop putting in the work. I have a fear that Lennon will go for him however.

A fine article on Boerrigter by Dutch football expert Peter McVitie.
