That cock on Celtic Quick News reckons we’re signing a Croatian of Italian parentage.
Sky Sports are saying we’re trying to finalise a deal for Juan Carlos Menseguez - he’s an attacking midfielder that Mowbray had on loan at West Brom last season.
Portsmouth are said to be signing Aston Villa’s left back Nicky Shorey so they’ll hardly follow up on their interest in Lee Naylor now.
He’s on loan until January. Got injured in his second game I think and there was talk of him returning but it seems it’s not that bad an injury and he’ll be back in a couple of weeks. Argyle fans have been impressed with him so far from my readings of PAFOTI (their main fan site) and want him to replace Rory Fallon. High praise.
What’s up with Misun Bandage?
Was hoping for a good coach for O’Dea at Reading, not sure what your man’s like.

Did his cruciate in that Brisbane Roar game. Won’t see him until after Christmas.
It’s all kicking off on the RTE transfer page. Someone called Alan Kelly, seemingly a bitter Rovers fan, seems not to have grasped that the Crowe story was someone’s wind up. “not that the story was believable in the first place”. Oh dear
SSN are reporting this too. He’s a free agent so the 5pm deadline doesn’t come into play. Not sure if he’s any good - could be as much a marketing and merchandising signing as anything. Think he’s China captain.
Celtic have signed Zheng Zhi, captain of the China national team, on a two-year contract.
The 29-year-old was available under freedom of contract after his contract with Charlton Athletic expired this summer.
The formalities can be completed outside of the transfer window but Tony Mowbray, the Celtic manager, is confident that the players versatility will make him an invaluable addition to his squad.
Zheng has made his reputation as a central midfielder but can also play up front. His arrival will offset the departure of Massimo Donati to Bari.
Mowbray tried to sign him last summer for West Bromwich Albion. The player moved to British football when he joined Charlton in December 2006 from Shenzhen Jianlibao. He scored nine goals in 63 games for the London club.
Mowbray said: Zheng Zhi is a player I have tracked for some time. He is a highly-regarded player and was a thorn in our side when he played against us at West Bromwich Albion. I am delighted that he may join us. He will significantly add to the squad with his quality and the fact that he can play in a number of positions. We now need to tie up loose ends and obtain a work permit, which we hope to do before our next game.
Matty Holland says he’s a super player and can’t believe he was still unattached. Says his best position is attacking midfield but can put the foot in too.
I think the dealine to register players for Europe has passed though.
