Just watched the press conference with Juarez there. Referencing the UEFA Cup Final v Porto. What a fucking legend. Some gimps asking questions like “Why would you join Celtic?” over and over again but he seems to love the place.

Well he was at Barca a couple of years ago. There wasn’t much in the interview where he says he turned down Barca. He just answers the question about turning down Barca by saying he joined Celtic. Probably a bit of confusion in translation I’d say but it was the journalists looking for the story without him saying anything. He’ll win the CL at Celtic anyway.
I don’t know really. I expect him to go but I’m not sure if he’s keen to go there. I reckon you’d at least hear out someone who’s that keen on you and offering big money though. Still expect him to go to Villa after Milner leaves there on balance. Having signed Efrain Juarez, I read that Barca have offered us Jeffren Suarez on loan for the year as a wing option given the friendly relations between the clubs. We’d need Maloney to give us a proper consistent run of games this season if McGeady goes and we don’t get someone like Suarez in.
I expect Lawrence or someone to come in if McGeady leaves.

I think Sol Campbell’s off to Newcastle. Biram Kayal is nearly finalised and Kelvin Wilson from Nottingham Forest is lined up for centre back now.
I hope Lennon’s doing a David Moyes on it and signing the best prospects from the championship. In fairness, the age profile of Ledley, Hooper and Wilson is decent.
I like the look of Kayal’s promo video. Not too sure about Wilson from what I’ve read but haven’t seen enough of him to be honest.

Yes, that’s his number. Leaving #7 free for either Keane or Bellamy. McGeady was on the flight this morning too though I’m not sure if he’s fit or would be played anyway.
its a good policy alright I hated when celtic would pay big money for a 29/30 yr old and end up losing them when their contracts go after 4 yrs.

No news on David James since. There could be a touch of the Sol Campbell affair about this one. Either way, we need to be urgently looking for a goalkeeper, centre back and left back.
I’d suspect money is the issue with James. I’d imagine the parties exchanged ballpark figures in advance of him travelling up and reckoned they were too far apart.
Watching that Kayal press conference now. Says some decent stuff in it! “Who not hurt about Celtic is somebody who deals in basketball. Somebody who not hears about Celtic is not normal.” And that’s his translator.
