Celtic v Hearts

Team:

Zaluska,
Hinkel, Caldwell, McManus, Fox,
McGeady, Crosas, N’Guemo, Maloney,
Zheng, Killen.

Hinkel cleared one off the line from the first attack of the game. Otherwise, Hearts are playing 4-5-1 and sitting on the edge of their own box.

Good to see Fox back, Crosas really needs to take this opportunity and it’s another game for Zheng to build his fitness.

McCourt’s only on the bench.

Any sign of McGinn?

He’s not on the bench tonight - only 5 subs in the League Cup - although he came on at Hamilton at the weekend and at home to Hamburg last midweek and started the weekend before. Tries hard but hasn’t set the world alight. Some signs on Sunday and early on here that Shaun Maloney is belatedly coming onto a bit of a game.

Celtic could do with taking a leaf out of Arsenal’s book and pricing these games as low as it takes to sell the place out, what have they got to lose?

Indeed, or even take the extra step of making it free for season ticket holders. The board invariably don’t bother taking the option that would build up some goodwill with the support.

Standard enough fare from Celtic this season in the first half. Straightforward 4-4-2, with Hearts doubling up on McGeady and Maloney to curb most of the attacking threat.

Both have made a couple of chances and fired off a few shots but a goalscoring threat from the centre of midfield, al Petrov, would make all the difference in this team. Crosas and N’Guemo have been tidy in there without really stamping their authority on the game - just moving the ball onto the wide men for the most part.

We need to have a 4th line in our team to take advantage of space and give McCourt that free role in a 4-3-1-2 or 4-2-3-1 or something.

I agree with everything Pat Dolan has said here - he is a great, great man.

What’s he saying? Before the game he was emphasising the importance of giving the manager time and space in which to work.

Need a goal out of these cunts. Get Provo Pat on, I need a fooking goal :guns:

He said:

  • Celtic have done okay.
  • Caldwell rolling around on his arse and playing them on side for clear efforts on goal might explain why he’s not been offered the cash he’s demanded.
  • Killen is muck.
  • The defence is shite.
  • There’s some tidy players in the midfield sector but they need more variation to break down teams intent on defending (see my theory on ‘space’ :D)
  • Fuck the huns.

McCourt on for Maloney at half time. McManus awol from the tip off and Driver nearly scored.

McManus - get the fuck out of Celtic.

McCourt dribbles by 8* and cracks one off the underside of the bar.

  • Actually it was 3.

Lovely style to watch with the dropped shoulders, body swerves and sharp changes of direction - he’s not blisteringly quick by any means.

N’Guemo gives it away on the edge of the box, Nade is slipped in, Fox takes him down and Stewart scores the penalty. Rubbish.

McDonald and Samaras on for Killen and Zheng.

Is McCourt better than McGeady? Where was it he failed again? Rochdale?

Some provo to be playing with Norn Iron aswell:rolleyes: Didnt stop Darron Gibson declaring for the good guys.

Former United great Michael Stewart with the peno.

Magnificent by McGeady there.

Sammy misses a one on one and then hits the base of the post 30 seconds later.

Who is this lad Samaras masquerading as a footballer? A cripple, a fucking cripple. GTF :mad::mad::mad:

Another sitter missed by Samaras.

hearts were 8/1 on some coupon i saw today…

N’Guemo’s passing has been disgraceful in the second half.

Samaras had an age to shoot there but rushed it the clown.

Another horrific effort by Samaras. Pack of imposters.
