Celtic v Hibs

Celtic continue to walk a league tightrope after the Nancy madness, & the big news is Schmeichel somehow has been selected again by MON. His “highlight” reel of mistakes has gone beyond a joke at this stage.

Full debut from the start for the Ox but no sign of Mvuka or Iheanacho today.

O’Hora, McGrath & Elding start for Hibs.

I’ve wondered if the ill-feeling from Thursday night might spread & I’d actually fear for Celtic if they go behind, especially if it’s another unforced error/calamity. The atmosphere could get toxic enough.

The team has been playing fairly muck lately, but still winning ugly at least domestically. It seems strange to criticise MON when they’ve won every league game under him other than a reasonable draw away to Hearts. But the actual displays & team structure have deteriorated markedly over time. The whole Schmeicel, centre backs, McGregor spine has been totally wanting so we really need the Ox to have a positive impact.

Hi @bandage can you turn off notifications on the league thread title for me? It’s a lil irksome being told every time another incredibly witty title change occurs.

I’m just in the door. We’ve beaten Raheny United 6-5 in a dramatic & tense DDSL U8 local derby, with my young lad sealing his hat-trick with the winner at the death. Not that anyone tracks score or lodges results at this level. We’re wondering what to do with these local bragging rights we’ve brought home with us, & all the positivity is punctured by the lads fighting on TFK again.

I feel for you. I really do.

Fuck sake. 1-0 Hibs

Had a bad feeling about this one.

Yang with a PJ Gillic style header which bounces into the ground four yards out and bounces over the bar with goalkeeper beaten.

A carbon copy of Ally McCoist’s lead goal at the same end in the 1998 SFA Cup semi-final.

Tounekti was incredibly cowardly for their goal. Waiting on the back foot for the cross, readying himself to volley clear, instead of going to the ball & heading it…like their player did into the net. Think Celtic have been fairly okay despite losing that first goal. Cvancara should have scored shortly before the equaliser & they’ve worked the ball into good areas repeatedly. Schmeichel actually made a decent save at 0-1 after Scales got caught under a high ball. There was one dire misplaced pass very early on that nearly resulted in a Hibs chance. Yang looks to have the beating of them but a lot of play going down the other side, usually with Tounekti slowing it down & taking too many touches. I was becoming irked by himself & Tierney but think it was the latter’s cross for the goal. 18 now for the season for Nygren…it’s Kris Commonesque. Hibs still have a threat on the break as they have some pace in Boyle.

Rangers 1-0 DOWN at Livingstone.

A lot of people would have heard a 1-0 scoreline and presumed they were ahead but they are in fact losing.

Rangers 2 down

Almost a catastrophe for the Hibs goalkeeper Sallinger. As he went to clear the ball three yards in front of his goal his kicking foot somehow managed to catch in the rye and he fell over. He just about managed to get up and scramble the ball to safety before Cvancara pounced.

Farcical red

Fucking crazy

Hun Var then denies a stonewall pen.

Trusty the dope

How is that no penalty? Its textbook for VAR
