Celtic v Huns ☘

What did you think of Tillman today? I think you have believed he’d cause us problems. He hasn’t been great against us yet and was fairly anonymous today.

Would need to see that second hun goal back. Thought Johnston had to cover inside but maybe he was just dragged centrally by ball watching. On the disallowed one - far end of the stadium for me so hard to see. But I think we’re generally going to be vulnerable against them at set pieces. They have two full backs who take a good set piece. And we have to mark up their centre backs.

Not disagreeing with your analysis of being poor under crosses. But we need to do a little better in those situations, particularly at stopping the cross for the second goal.

Anyway. fuck the hun.

He wasn’t great and threw himself on the ground a lot I thought but still got in a few good positions but messed up the shots … i defo think he has something . I think he would benefit from a more versatile striker than Morelos in front of him …

Johnston had Morelos in front of him and Tavernier behind him for the second goal. CCV went with the other attacker running across him. I think any full back is always going to tuck in on the striker there and risk getting beaten by the deeper cross to the back post rather than leaving the centre forward in wonderful isolation. That said, when the centre forward is Morelos…

Tillman was a complete non-entity again, as were Kent and Cantwell.

Edit: Joe Hart wasn’t exactly sprightly on his toes for either goal.

Tillman was poor but could have scored first half pal … thought Kent and Cantwell were both anonymous for so playmakers …Raskin poor too…Kent playing like a lad who knows he’s leaving ?

Another 8/10 performance from starfelt

He dragged an angled shot comfortably wide from the edge of the box. What does he have on you?

:joy: I’m always looking to be vindicated when I see the slightest thing I like in a player … similarly Starfelt’s performances are ignored by me as Ive seen him to do crazy stuff… this flaw is why I’ll never make it as a top top coach …

The first Hun goal would have beaten most any goalkeeper at that pace and hitting the underside of the bar. It’s was a beautiful strike.

Yeah it was a great strike & not disputing that. I just thought Hart was late to react so ended up diving without moving his feet. It went in off the underside of the bar at pace but it was 2 yards inside the post & he wasn’t anywhere near it.

Thought Starfelt was very good. CCV had a rare game with a few errors. Mostly from his passing but his general positional play wasn’t as good as usual. Think CCV was our worst defender for once.

Give us a little run down of where you ate & drank today please.

That first rangers disallowed goal was one of those odd ones, probably the correct decision but only just about, and you’d be fuming if it was the other way round at Ibrox. Delighted it was Morelos, though tbh, he’s been playing like a fenian all year (and drawing a hefty salary), and he really should be a firm favourite.

Breakfast at the Travellodge at Braehead across from Ross Hall where Rivaldo refused to do a medical.

Couple of pre match pints at the new Sports Bar at Celtic Park. A nice little addition to the experience but hampered by the usual poor Scottish bar service.

Post match hot dog and chips in gravy at a little van ok London Road which was imaginatively entitled “Food to Go. “ few pints of lager then and a random green shot and a Venom at McCoys which is a grand pub east of the stadium. Rebel songs and general high jinxs.

Onto the Celtic Social Club then for q couple of gins before boarding the bus to Cairnryan. Having a grand little portion of chips on the Stena now. Might have a last pint to complete things before moving into rest mode.

Although it was only one game today and we didn’t play very well it’s worth reflecting on how poor their recruitment has been under Ross Wilson even leaving aside last year’s indulgences in Ramsey and Diallo.

They played today with a 41 year old goalkeeper who they tried to drop at the start of the season but decided to tolerate now.

Then Morelos up front. Who seems to be certainly leaving in the summer. They spent a few million on a full back in August who hasn’t been trusted with playing in any sort of game since.

Their high wages for mediocre players strategy is not proving fruitful.

100 goals for tavernier.

What is he doing at Rangers?

Good record but Think over 50 are penalties

What? Surely Rangers don’t get that many penos?
