Agreed.

Even though I grew up in Dublin I developed a natural Scouse accent from watching Thomas The Tank Engine, Brookside, Bread, Blind Date, Art Attack(h) on Children’s ITV and Bob Carolgees and Spit The Dog

Nothing to do with football

and there was me thinking all along that a fella from Bogota who is employed to play for Rangers under the terms and conditions of his contract kicked a player from Celtic because he has a deep hatred of Taigs but there you go

FFS @Rocko all i did was state the obvious that the two glasgow clubs are dependent on each others sectaraianism to remain relevant - you’d swear i said something out of line here - next you’ll be telling us glasgow is in ireland

Celtic’s Ryan Christie has been served with a notice of complaint from the Scottish Football Association following Sunday’s Old Firm game at Parkhead.

The Hoops attacker has been charged with allegedly grabbing Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos’ groin area in the 60th minute of the Gers’ 2-1 Ladbrokes Premiership win.

The sanction for breaching rule 200, A2 is a two-game ban and the Scotland international’s hearing is on 6 January.

The 24-year-old had already been booked by referee Kevin Clancy when he appeared to grab at Morelos after he had been nutmegged by the Colombia attacker, with only a foul awarded.

Disciplinary Rule 200 is: “Where any one of the sending off offences of (A1) serious foul play, (A2) violent conduct, and (A3) spitting at an opponent or any other person is committed by a player at a match, but that sending off offence was not seen by any of the match officials at the time that it was committed, the mandatory suspension for that sending off offence as provided for in Annex C of the Judicial Panel Protocol shall be applied to the player.”

Christie had a penalty saved by Gers goalkeeper Allan McGregor in the first half of a typically incident-packed Glasgow derby.

The former Inverness player was substituted with 10 minutes remaining and reports on Tuesday morning claim he had to have groin surgery after the game.

Christie’s case is fast-track and there is no specific time limit on reviewing any other potential disciplinary incidents.

Celtic had their lead over Rangers at the top of the Ladbrokes Premiership cut to two points having played a game more than the Light Blues going into the winter break.

Neil Lennon’s side do not play again until they face Partick Thistle in the William Hill Scottish Cup on 18 January, following their return from a winter training camp in Dubai.

Meanwhile, police in Scotland have confirmed they are investigating alleged racial abuse towards Morelos from Celtic supporters.

Fans can be heard shouting “Orange b******” and “Hun b******” in a video circulating on social media but Rangers have reported that there were also chants of a racial nature.

Celtic have also claimed their own players were targeted with “sickening chants” and accused Gers fans of throwing missiles, following claims published in the Sun that one Rangers supporter was knocked unconscious by a coin.

A Celtic spokesman said: "We are aware of a number of incidents from Sunday’s match including Celtic supporters being targeted with missiles from the away support, something which has unfortunately happened on numerous occasions previously.

"We are also aware of a number of other unsavoury incidents involving the away support, including sickening chants directed at our players and supporters.

“However, as we always do, Celtic will deal with these and all other incidents responsibly and in a dignified and professional manner and in a way which protects the greater good of the game.”

Bizarre Christie got cited for that when Morelos got away with worse last year.

Sweep sweep

Huh?

Just seen that Callum McGregor has played more minutes than any other player in the world in 2019.

He looked utterly shot on Sunday, I’ve been saying it all season long that he needs to be managed and he needs to be rested. We played 9 games in January I think and he started 8 of them, I am open to correction on this. He played 5 successive games in 14 days. Rogic started the bench in all 5 of those games.

The only start Rogic had in December he scored in, against Ross County on the 1st of the month. He missed the Cluj games but was available for our other 7 games in the month, he got 6 minutes against Hibs and 8 against Hearts.

The best football we played last season was when Rogic, McGregor, Christie were our midfield trio.

Lennon has managed the squad very poorly, we have a host of players who are either burned out or are too safe in the knowledge that has started. We’ve been more solid at the back this season granted but Ajer is the only player really from last season and the replacements have all been upgrades on the previous occupiers. We lost Tierney but he was out of action for most of last season.

Apart from that most of the key players of the Rodgers era are regressing, Rodgers operated with a meritocracy at Celtic, players would get their chance, they would generally get a proper chance and if they took it they would keep their spots, if they dropped off then someone else would get the chance. You look at how Rodgers brought the games of McGregor, Christie, Armstrong, Rogic, Forrest on.

Even in the case of Ntcham, he’s only got an opportunity in recent weeks because of an injury to Elyounoussi and you can’t expect guys like Bayo, Griffiths, Rogic etc to come in to the breach when they have hardly played any football this year, they’ve had a few niggles but have been available for the majority of our games. The squad needs rotation, it needs pressure on the starters, it needs players on the sideline who are sharp and ready to come in. We simply don’t have that and it’s a failing of the manager.

The December performances have been very worrying and I think there is a great risk that Lennon is going to cost us the title.

That’s the secret to success. A midfield trio with two players

:hugs::hugs::hugs:

There was a breakthrough in the case last week.

A 12-year-old boy has been charged in connection with racist chants against Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos.

Police launched an investigation following allegations of abuse during the Scottish Premiership clash with Celtic on Sunday 29 December.

The boy cannot be identified for legal reasons.

Supt Mark Sutherland said that any form of abuse was “completely unacceptable” and that the force would continue to investigate any further claims.

12 years old and this is the mindset?? Disgusting.

The Glasgow Celtic crew here in full sweep sweep mode over this one.

Charging a 12 year old is fucking ridiculous.

What’s the age of criminal responsibility in Scotland?

@ChairmanDan trying to pick on 12 year olds now.

Sweep sweep.
