Champions League 2022/23 featuring Celtic and the rest

Charlie Adam. Fergie said he was worth the fee for his corner alone.

You seem to know a lot about it so I’ll take your word on the 40s and 50s mate.

Your very wise

Loads of Scots played for Liverpool, sure.

Dalglish, Hansen, Souness, Nicol, Gillespie, McAllister, Ian St John, Billy Lidell.

Less memorable ones like Danny Wilson and Don Hutchinson.

I was referring to the period since they had outfield irish players bud

Oh since 2008/9 season?! Apologies!

Wasn’t worth it for his penalties anyway. The league cup final one is still orbiting around space.

What a tie for Erling

The great David speedie…

RTE have gone with some racist formatting in their draw summary, all the English teams highlighted, and Celtic, but not Rangers

Group A: Ajax, Liverpool, Napoli, Rangers

Group B: Porto, Atletico Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen, Club Bruges

Group C: Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Inter Milan, Viktoria Plzen

Group D: Eintracht Frankfurt, Tottenham, Sporting Lisbon, Marseille

Group E: AC Milan, Chelsea, Salzburg, Dinamo Zagreb

Group F: Real Madrid, RB Leipzig, Shakhtar Donetsk, Celtic

Group G: Manchester City, Sevilla, Borussia Dortmund, Copenhagen

Group H: PSG, Juventus, Benfica, Maccabi Haifa

Rangers would have far more fans in Ireland than Spuds and all

Lol

That’s not a particularly nice arrangement of fixtures. It might require a Newcastle 2002/03 style turnaround in the final 3 games of the group. Or more recently Spurs qualifying after just 1 point from the first 3 games in 2018/19 season.

On the plus side, it might allow us to make a strategic decision for the last game if we’ve already qualified with a game to spare. We could eliminate one or our rivals by beating Real or we could rest players ahead of the visit of Dundee United and see how the chips fall.

Also, our game away to Shakhtar will be their first game in Warsaw so a minor advantage there in it being their first game at their adopted home. Their league matches are being played in Kiev.
