Champions League - Round of 4

its not the point i’m making you idiot…i’m saying slowing up the game will never suit the better footballing side…it will suit the more organised defensive side who can regroup while game is stopped…come on! surely you can understand that much??

The away section at Barca goes almost all the way across the top tier at one side of the pitch. He was celebrating in front of the Inter fans but definitely doing it to inflame the Barca fans. It’s not as if he has some great bond with the Inter fans, sure he’s probably fucking off in the summer.
Good to see everyone ignoring flano on this thread with his silly attempts at ‘banter’. I’d say he knows as much about football as a dog does about side pockets. Hadn’t even heard of Alan Hansen and Bobby Moore ffs.

to be fair to Flano ive never heard of them either

Is he the fella who does ads on television?

I knew you’d have heard of him. Fair play buddy

i wikied bobby moore- he won a world cup as a centrehalf in the 60’s- i honestly dont think i could name any pre 1970 world cup winnig centre halfs apart from the Italian ones- id actually struggle with a lot of the 1970s’s & 80’s ones too

hansen it seems was a scotch footballer

Ah I’m not saying it wasn’t necessary or effective, it evidently was. I’m just saying it wasn’t the greatest defensive performance ever. RTÉ were effectively saying that this was a victory for Inter’s defending over the offside trap. It wasn’t really. Inter didn’t defend like that in the first leg. They defended well, but they were far more exapnsive obviously and ultimately that’s what won them the game.

They did have 1 or 2 lads making some effort to hold onto the ball but by and large Mourinho gambled on staying deep enough to deny Barca room around the fringes of the box. It worked but it wasn’t perfect. They still gave up chances good enough to lose by two goals but they got away with it. You’ll always give up chances if you’re playing that deep so it’s not a criticism of their effectiveness. It just wasn’t the out and out victory for coaching tonight I don’t think.

Now over the two legs you could make a different argument. Mourinho is a cunt but he’s an excellent tactician in fairness to him.

I think I have identified something which may be considered ironic. In the season where the final is taking place on Real Madrid’s home ground, and after they spent millions signing galacticos like Ronaldo, Kaka and Bennzema to try to take them to that game, it’s two players discarded by Madrid last summer, Robben and Sneijder, that have been key creative and goalscoring influences in their new teams’ respective runs to the final.

With all this talk of the referee playing into Inters hands Gola has played right into mine the silly bastard

Wasn’t Bobby Moore an international jewellery thief, I think he may have played soccer as well at one stage.

26 caps for his country. About 8 shy of Gary Doherty’s total.

I have in my hole, I just said I’d put you out of misery. genuinely would say you don’t have a clue about soccer though.

yes- further research shows he was a thief

Bro, I know more about the game than anyone on here with the excpetion of probably 4 people who are on a par with me (they know who they are ). I refuse to be drawn into inane debates with people who think their opinions actually mean something to anyone other than themselves. My opinion on a team or game is irrelevant if someone has a differing one. What’s the point in arguing I ask you? Oh he did that , they did this. Blah.

Anyway, it’ll be interesting mingling with the Inter fans in Madrid, I’m not fucking going near those kraut fucks though. Glug glug glug.

Forza Inter!

It’ll be great day for Mourinho, a great day for Diego Milito, a great day for Italian football and a great day for my beloved city of Madrid.

Yeah, good decision, there’ll be no room for lightweights.

Piazza del Duomo should be party central tonight anyway.

Only one player but difficult to feel any sympathy for Barca when I look at that.
