Champions League - Round of 72

Last ditch block by Wilson. We’re not playing well in this half.

Maccabi Tel Aviv take the lead away to Gyori Eto FC, vital away goal. Slovan Bratislava just equalised at home to Ludogorets.

Stokes off the bar after a decent little passage of play.

Ex Celt and Kerry native Diarmuid O’Carroll introduced upfront for the home* side.

  • Cliftonville in this instance.

Time for a couple of subs now, Neil.

Rogic and Watt or Balde please.

Watt for the majestic Samaras.

Finishing strongly here. Another goal would be very welcome.

'80: Rogic for Commons.

Still 0-2. Forrest just created a chance for himself and should have hit the target.

Good finish by Forrest. 3-0.

Forrest gets a deserved goal. Not great goalkeeping from Devlin but Forrest has run really well at them all night.

'86: McGeouch for Forrest.

Lennon adores Forrest. Gave him a standing ovation there.

Kayal taking a yellow there. He’s not a very bright chap.

That Celtic jersey is rotten. It hurts my eyes.

He was very good tonight but he can do no wrong in Lennon’s eyes. Even games where he’s shit, Lennon says he was dangerous and a threat and all those clichés.

Happy enough with that. We looked good with the ball. Nit great defensively but missing a few defenders and Ledley who might have shielded us a bit.

I’d worry about us in Europe with Kayal bound to start, he’s not really good at anything. He can play aggressive and press hard but he doesn’t have the discipline or intelligence to carry it out effectively. Ambrose still looks like he has two or three gaping errors in him a game. Samaras and Forrest were excellent, Commons was good as well. Stokes and Brown were pretty quiet.

didnt see any football tonight as we had a game at 9-30pm
disappointed for Sligo, anyone at or see that game, would appreciate an update
Maccabi Tel Aviv seeem to have completed the job tonight in Budapest against Gyor ETO winning 2-0 in what is a winning start for new coach Paolo Sousa, worringly for maccabi they still have not replacd Eliran Atar who they sold to Rennes a few months ago. Barak Yitzaki a former Beitar player who has been out on loan at Anathorsis Famagumsta got the opener , its not a good sign for maccabi if he is starting and they need more ammunition if they are to progress.

usual half hearted shit by Sligo

they continually bring shame on our league with their woeful European performances, Sadly for the big clubs the damage they are doing to the coefficient will take years to repair

Our country’s coefficient is still in free fall after the shams lost to a Lithuanian pub team last year. At least Sligo were playing decent opposition tonight.
