Champions League Rounds of 77 through 74

Draws for the first and second Champions League qualifying rounds take place today.

As usual, the teams have been grouped geographically for the second qualifying round. Celtic are top seeds in their group and can draw:

Malmo (Sweden)
KR (Iceland)
The New Saints (Wales)
Cliftonville (Ireland)

or one of the teams from the first round:
Levadia Tallinn (Estonia)
HB (Faroes)
Santa Coloma (Andorra)
Banants (Armenia)
La Fiorita (San Marino)
Lincoln Red Imps (Gibraltar)

Not sure if those first round teams will also be grouped geographically because one of those winners will be playing in the eastern group. Probably wouldn’t want to be playing in Armenia anyway.

Malmo are obviously the team to avoid there. They destroyed Hibs last season but didn’t cruise past Drogheda and Swansea hammered them.

Matches are on 15/16 July and then the following week which I understand to be the 22/23 July.

Santa Coloma have drawn Banants so we can’t get either of them. We can still get any of the other Round 1 teams.

Christ, not yet.

Here we go…

Not La Fiorita or Tallinn.

Not Malmo.

Not The New Saints

Home first…

againsts KR of Iceland.

Already we’re subjected to the pleonasm KR Reykjavik.

Kjartan Finnbogason plays for these lads.

KR beat Glentoran last year (0-0; 3-0) before losing to Standard Liege (1-3; 3-1). HJK beat them comfortably the year before and then we beat HJK.

@Rocko , Im OOP on International Business, can you fire up the draw if possible?, or who Maccabi TA, Celtic and Pats got?

I’m taking it that Geography isn’t your strong point…

Tough for Pats to beat Henning Berg managed Legia.

jesus that’s a horrible tie for Pats altogether

When i was on international business in dublin in december 2013 i drank on my own frequently in The Living Room at the top of O"Connell Street where they are showing the Polish equivilant of sky sports 1 and i must say the Polish football was of a very decent standard… Maor Melikson, a half decent Israeli player who was a target of Celtic not so long back played with Wisla Krakow before he moved to Valencinees there last year… Id imagine the Polish league is strong enough… back in the great days of Communisom their clubs were always featuring at the business end of competitions like the European Cup Winners Cup , @The Scouse Cafu , did united beat Legia in the 1991 CWC semi final?.. i think the last club side to compete in the CL group stages was Widesz Lodz about 15 years ago

Lincoln Red Imps FC is an amateur football club from Gibraltar. They play in the Gibraltar Premier Division, and share the Victoria Stadium with all other clubs in the territory…

the league must be played every Saturday morning in a blitz like format or something
