Cheer Up briantinnion

It’s fairly obvious that veteran poster and TFK Hall of Famer briantinnion is going through a bit of a rough spell at the moment. His lust for life, work and the GAA seems to be at an all-time low and the consumption of large quantities of Alcohol has exacerbated these issues

It may be time for an intervention.

As a family we need to help and protect our most vulnerable brothers and sisters in their greatest hours of need.

Please offer up your words of advice for brianntinnion and any other posters (The Runt, Lazarus, Bandage etc.) who are currently experiencing difficult times

Get well soon Brian Tinnion.

Tinnion seems to be in a semi-permanent state of melancholy. Maybe life as an office drone isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. What Tinnion needs is to grow his hair long, walk the earth, and get into adventures. Like Caine from Kung Fu.

Tinnion should sign up for the US army.

Tinnion is a rock of sense and I fully expect him to pry his way out of the little rut he is in

The sheer awesomeness of NY has gotten to us all on occasion BT. Rise up and climb back on again fella, TFK needs you.

"A little I’m hurt but not yet slain.
I’ll just lie down and bleed awhile,
And then I’ll rise and fight again

tinnion lie down and bleed a while, then rise and fight again…

I thought this was gonna be a song/chant thread.

Cheer Up B T
Oh, what can it mean
To a, proud New Yorker
And a, Cross Dressing Queen bean counting feen

How about:

Life’s but a walking shadow,
a poor player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage and then is heard no more.
It is a tale told by an idiot,
full of sound and fury,
signifying nothing.

Ah shucks. Thanks guys. I acknowledge I have let my standards slip in work lately, lost interest in previous hobbies, grew a beard - all things that a man like me shouldn’t be doing.

The reason for my great melancholy is that I will most likely have to leave these shores for a period of 12 months (minimum, possibly longer) sometime in the next three months. All credit to Dublin, Wexford and Ireland, but it’s not where my home is and it’s not where my heart is. I once read that the only way to imagine hell is to imagine forced separation from those you love. That is exactly how I feel.

My only hope is that I will return sometime in the Fall of 2013.

Well, I shuffled through the city on the 4th of July
I had a firecracker waiting to blow
Breakin’ like a rocket who was makin’ its way
To the cities of Mexico
Lived in an apartment out on Avenue A
I had a tar-hut on the corner of 10th
Had myself a lover who was finer than gold
But I’ve broken up and busted up since

And love don’t play any games with me
Anymore like she did before
The world won’t wait, so I better shake
That thing right out there through the door
Hell, I still love you, New York

Found myself a picture that would fit in the folds
Of my wallet and it stayed pretty good
Still amazed I didn’t lose it on the roof of the place
When I was drunk and I was thinking of you
Every day the children they were singing their tunes
Out on the streets and you could hear from inside
Used to take the subway up to Houston and 3rd
I would wait for you and I’d try to hide

And love won’t play any games with you
Anymore if you don’t want 'em to
The world won’t wait and I watched you shake
But honey, I don’t blame you
Hell, I still love you, New York
Hell, I still love you, New York
New York

I remember Christmas in the blistering cold
In a church on the Upper West Side
Babe, I stood there singing, I was holding your arm
You were holding my trust like a child
Found a lot of trouble out on Avenue B
But I tried to keep the overhead low
Farewell to the city and the love of my life
At least we left before we had to go

And love won’t play any games with you
Anymore if you don’t want ‘em to
So we better shake this old thing out the door
I’ll always be thinkin’ of you
I’ll always love you though New York
I’ll always love you though New York
I’ll always love you though New York
I’ll always love you though New York
New York, New York

Ireland is a shithole- only the dregs remain there

dont go back BT

is this connected to runts woes?

oh sorry you said rut he is in

Only the unemployable have left, the likes of BT will thrive in the current market. Things are cheaper than they’ve been in a long time and the riff raff can’t afford to go out.

Serious question here for people - what are the positives about living in Dublin? My list so far is:

 • much easier to go to Arsenal games
 • get to see the family more than a handful of times a year

After that I’m struggling to be honest.

Arguments like cheaper rent, cheaper cost of living can’t be included, they don’t make sense.

You would be able to resume playing for the TFK astro side

Would be very hard to reclaim my place in such a stable side. I can only hope for a serious injury to one of the current squad.

I notice you omitted ‘lady friend’. Maybe she is part of the family piece?

Much easier to get to Italy.

It’s all relative bro, unfortunately when you compare Dublin to New York there are no positives.
