Cheers - The Greatest US Sitcom of All Time

I stumbled across this Tonight Show Special from Cheers final ever episode. A real time capsule of sorts of that era. Especially amusing for the fact that the entire cast are absolutely manyanas drunk throughout, at one stage shoot spitballs across Leno into each others mouths.

I saw this recently. Carla is gas.

Great show.

I still haven’t seen the bit where Dansen takes off the wig

Ha! A great scene. Only Carla gets to see it.

I fucking loved Harry!

Did you know the barfly Phil was Rhea Perlmans real dad, Philip Perlman? She’s still happily married to Danny DeVito.

I think the double episode of Woodys wedding to Kelly is one of the greatest pieces of writing and physical comedy I’ve ever witnessed

Branford Marsalis really stood out there!

I did actually know that. Phil was no Al.

‘Sinatra!’

Clip at the start of an episode. Norm outside the bar on the sidewalk. Sam, confused as Norm is away from bar, asks why.

‘Oh Sammy it’s my anniversary. I never miss it.’

Fair play says Sam.

Camera cuts out to the street with a random person’s arm up in a car racing by.

Norm waves back.

‘That’s done Sammy - see you inside!!’

Just watching a few Cheers clips on YouTube.

Kirstie Alley was the one bad thing about the show.

It has no equal. Happy 40th Birthday to Cheers

George Wendt is Jason Sudekis’ uncle btw

A cracking show anchored superbly by Danson in the lead role with a terrific cast of characters around him.

There’s not a bad beat in it. Every new addition just drove it on further. The Woody wedding two parter was just out of this world.
